Slightly surprised we’re still putting in effort here

Need a little more context here.

Nunez switched AAU teams. He was playing for JL3 (nike) next to ball dominant PG Bryce Griggs and just wasn’t much of a factor. Now he’s in more of a floor general role with Southern Assault (Adidas), looks a lot better.

For Nunez?

For Lively

HGN Curious on your take, do you think UVa may be backing away a little from Nunez and potentially beginning to focus more on Brown? Haven’t had a chance to read much lately so I am catching up today. The comment you made on Nunez this past week kinda makes me think UVa is cooling a bit.

Could be who Gardner is speaking of and could be a reclass option. Never know!

Not exactly. They just haven’t tried to be aggressive with Nunez. TB told him he’d see him play in June. That’s not what you tell someone you want to commit now. Brown is the same boat without an offer. Just someone that’ll get a good look. Gotta pop to earn it

Gotcha, thanks for the response and that makes sense to me. In the long run, it wouldn’t surprise me if Bennett finds his PG of the future when he goes out to evaluate. It could be either of the kids I mentioned or it could be someone not even on the radar yet. I think that’s what makes the eval period exciting if you following recruiting. It’s good to know Bennett will be back in his element.

Thanks again.

Reminds me of Kyle, not quite as quick but built more powerfully. Shot is pure though.

Dont need as fast a shot when you are 3-4 inches taller and levitate 90 feet in the air when you shoot

Yeah he does jump pretty high on some of them. Might be something our coaches try and address. It can sometimes hurt repeatability (Russell Westbrook has this issue) but it seems like in most catch and shoot scenarios he’s nice and controlled

He doesn’t kick his legs out nearly as much as he did in previous videos. It could be that someone spoke to him about it, maybe it’s too cocky, or maybe it’s not repeatable against better competition etc.

No judgement on my end about the short-term just an observation.
