2023-2024 College Football

The funny thing is that the demo for both teams is really quite similar.

But Roll Tide I guess…

Dirtbags.

But absolutely love the Texas players response.

Tale as old as time. I’ll never forget being 14 yrs old and having Stuarts Draft fans chant “lynch him” at me on the field

To state the obvious, that’s extremely [messed] up.

Apparently not that obvious since it seems like the people shouting here are also the ones recording and the ones who made the conscious decision to upload the video…

An interesting stat … in UVA history there have only been fifteen games with a UVA QB throwng for more yards than Colandrea did against JMU. And B Armsrong owns 8 of those games. Colandrea did it in his 1st start as a true freshman.

He also threw for more yards than any true freshman ever has at UVA. Shattering the old record by a little over 120 yards.

Very good start for AC to be sure, but those stats probably say more about the evolution of offensive football than anything. And that a true freshman has that opportunity says something about the state of UVA football. Most of our historically good QB’s didn’t play their true freshman year.

I would generally agree - the modern game has become much more passing focused. But we also ran the ball 28 times in the JMU game (excluding QB runs/sacks). So it’s not like we just went full air raid. I think that number is pretty impressive.

When I see Armstrong has 7 of the top 9, and is ahead of any game yardage of Schaub, Majkowski, Brooks, Moore, Blundin, Secules, Perkins , etc, I just think less of the stat. Still, great game by AC in his first start.

Mostly a ton of garbage yards when behind. Lost 5 of those 8 games.
Losses by 5, 10, 17, 20 and 20

Yeah, I mean that’s a lot of it.

  • If you’re QB of a team that’s often up by 2 touchdowns and trust your D and running game, you’re going to eat clock and mix it up.

But

  • If you’re QB of a team that has a fantastic passing game, a bad running game, and a historically bad defense, you’re going to air it out as much as you can because scoring 45 is no guarantee of victory.

Guess which QB is going to pass for more yards?

You nailed it. That BA team had a terrible pass defense and no rushing attack so they got caught in a ton of shoot outs that they eventually lost.

In addition like many have said, the modern game of football is so drastically different from what we saw even 10 years ago that we’re seeing nearly every passing record fall across the board. Take a look at the NFL QB’s like Matt Ryan and Matt Stafford are putting up numbers that would make Montana and Marino blush.

Yeah. Montana (my favorite QB) never had a 4000 yard season nor averaged 300 yards/game in a season, and he won MVP in a season where he averaged 272 yards/game (which would have been 8th last year). It was a very different world.

ESPN has already best the Primetime story into the ground. I’m over it

We played LIU in hoops a few years ago. Their home court is the stage of a theater (by LIU Brooklyn). Apparently the football team plays by the more suburban campus, by Bethpage.
