Yeah, I think it’s McCasland (North Texas) or Mills (Oral Roberts) for Texas Tech. I think they’re both from the very fertile Scott Drew coaching tree.

I highly doubt CTE nudged Hagans overboard, but I guess it’s a possibility. CTE can’t recruit generally (seemingly) and doesn’t know anything about the state, so I would seriously question his judgment if that were the case…On the other side of the spectrum, could be interpreted as a personal “F U” to CTE by Hagans…leaving CTE and going to Penn State to coach with Poindexter after the job fiasco. Hilarious. I’m sure it was just organic and he wanted a change but definitely juicy story lines to this one…

Has there ever been more of a dead cat bounce hire than CTE and UVa football? He snuffed out the energy and buried the body in a matter of a few weeks…remarkable honestly.
I honestly don’t know what happened with Hagans. I didn’t mean to imply that CTE pushed him out, so much it may have been clear they didn’t share a coaching philosophy.
I’m not defending Elliott. The season was a disappointment (before it became a tragedy) and I haven’t seen much that leaves me optimistic. But I think the guy deserves a chance.

It’s strange cause he wants to make an impact apparently he was ready to fire the football coach before he even got the job but then he went cheap on the hire. I feel like the same is gonna happen here.
He talks a big game about performance and expectations and then brings in a juco guy.
