47-47 2 min to go in womens D3 final. Don’t tell me i dont love hoops
I was on a random team of misfits at Slaughter and played against a team of Tammi Reiss, Tonya Cardoza, Dena Evans, one of the Burge twins, and another women’s player (can’t remember but NOT Dawn Staley). They were within a year or so of their title game run. The guys won just because of the physicality, jumping ability, etc. They were definitely skilled. But great shooters won’t score if they can’t really get a shot off. So no, women players won’t have any real success against male college players.
Also remember in ODU Lady Monarch great teams in mid-90’s led by Ticha Penicheiro. Talk on radio was maybe they could beat some men’s teams, and coach Wendy Larry laughed and said they had to be very careful not to get blown out in practice against a squad of random guy student players they scrimmaged against to improve themselves.
Exactly every player on that X team was better than me. But I was 6’6 270 lbs and squated 6plates for reps. They couldn’t move me.
Jesus, I and three furniture movers together couldn’t move you.
If I ever had an idea to play rugby and saw you out on the field, I’d turn around and walk right back home.
Hah on a rugby field theres 15 or so other guys built like me. On a women’s basketball court not so much
Shout out Transylvania KY for locking up the women’s D3 championship
I had a large bet on them at -3
Agreed. How is she going to D up a man her size or bigger who can dunk and is also in a weight training program? Really want to know what her strategy is going to be there.
Hahahah. I think she seems pretty happy dominating in womens college hoops. And we are all better off enjoying her playing
Don Lane basketball camp. Fresh we to Transy camp as a kid when I lived in Georgetown KY
Yea thats right. Also speed is a huge difference of course
Lot of drama in the VT women’s team. Turns out when you’ve got a hotshot player and you repeatedly DNP them, tensions build. Who knew?
Can you give us the cliff notes lol
A little more context to what lead up
Is the lack of board chatter indicative of the overall ratings for this Final 4 game?
I’m a huge fan of college basketball and finding it hard to get into this game.
