Nothing interests me in this game. The Women’s games yesterday were more appealing than this one.
I have to wonder if FAU is going inspire more teams to play super small. It’s barely been talked about that they’re doing this legit playing four guards all the time and I don’t mean a 6’7 wing. Their “power forward” is a 6’4 guard. All the time.
You see that more at the mid major level but I think it’s always been seen as something you can only get away with situationally in a league like the ACC. But FAU is showing it can work against the best.
The Russian kid is killing FAU. His plus minus has got to be terrible
I’m watching and enjoying
Edit: but yes was surprised this thread wasn’t more active
This has been a physical damn contest. “Letting them play,” plenty of bodies hitting the hardwood.
I woulda fouled and stretched this game out. First guessing.
It’s a tough decision. The differential is right on the edge I think.
FAU wilted
Wow
What a shot!!!
Hate that for FAU. Nothing against the Aztecs.
Lol They don’t have their scorers on the floor. Wild ending. Coach would have been ripped so hard if it hadn’t worked out.
Unreal. I also thought they should have stretched it out too, or even looked for a 3 when they had the ball with 40 secs, but everything worked out, huh?
Lol basically this:
Boy that was a tough shot, moving to the left. Uh, “gutsy” call there— results-based analysis looks pretty good, but wow.
This is way outside the box but what if FAU just waited and shot a high arc 3 at the shot clock buzzer. They could run back on defense and not even try to rebound. The clock would probably be down to like 3 seconds before SDSU could get going down the court.
Dusty should have never called that initial timeout
I was thinking the same thing at the time. I thought they shot too early regardless
Maybe like throw it up to mid-court when you are trapped under your own basket with 7 seconds left?
Feel awful for FAU they probably deserved the win. Not sure who would give Miami/UConn a better game. Guess SDSU due to D and physicality but man they struggle to score sometimes. Either one of those two might run them off the floor.
