Not a bad breakdown by Rothstein, but Rohde is starting. Not Harris.
This is the coach who did everything he could to keep an accessory to murder on the court for the Big Dance. Whatever Tony’s shortcomings, he doesn’t go there. So yeah, I think the dude slings BS. JMO.
Kentucky plays today on CBS Sport Network at 130 eastern for those of you who dare question Tony’s wisdom that college basketball should not be televised between early April and early November.
For what it is worth Fresh heard that Sheppeard is really impressive at this early stage
I think they play Germany, today
Non Concacaf
Hoo?
At the risk of getting obliterated for posting:
KY box score
From half watching for a couple minutes, my only takeaway was that Wagner looked good
McDermott re Traudt:
“He’s adjusting – you know, the system and style they played in Virginia is very different than what we play”
The only system Traudt played at Virginia was “Sit Ass On Bench,” so yeah, Creighton’s distinct style
(aka “Play Basketball”) probably is an adjustment
He should probably redshirt
Bitter, just a bit?
If he’s “adjusting” to Creighton, I think that means it isn’t a Virginia problem.
More snarky than bitter, but I do suspect McDermott is reaching a bit to suggest Traudt developed some deeply ingrained habits in his one year at Virginia where he didn’t play and apparently wasn’t planning to stay. Just say the man is rusty.
I can imagine it’s hard for Traudt to go from UVA’s system to a system that has only produced 1 NBA player under the current head coach, that player being the coach’s son. Big time adjustment really.
Bold prediction: Traudt will never be more than an average D1 basketball player.
Not bitterness at all. He has always seemed Charmin soft to me with no fire whatsoever. Even when we were recruiting him.
3 man weave say the whispers are that Elmarko will be a longer term guy. Implication was “not this year.” I’m skeptical of that. I think Elmarko will be solid right away.
He strikes me as a typical lead guard for Kansas, good player as a frosh but NPOY candidate by his 3rd year. Bill Self is a cheater who copies off of Tony’s recruiting homework, but the man does know how to develop his players into beasts.
