2023 Off-Season Basketball - Outside UVa

I have no idea how good UNC will be but the best move of their off-season was Love leaving. That’s one recruit im glad we lost out on. Losing Leaky will hurt. Cadeau is supposed to be really good but he’s basically a high school junior but Hubert says he’s ready to play .Regardless I believe that after Duke it’s who knows. One thing may happen that hasn’t happened in a long time. The perennial preseason # 1 pick may finally win the regular season

We have the luxury of taking the nice guy, mediocre coach attitude since we don’t have to pay his salary or care whether they win!

I’m with you on Miami too. I think the ACC will be pretty interesting next year.

It’s hard for me to believe that the remaining pieces from a bad team plus a bunch of other transfers from bad teams and a very young point guard is suddenly going to result in a really good team. They’ll be solid because there’s a lot of talent but there’s no reason to believe that any of those guys will do the little things needed to be better than the sum of their parts like all the really good teams are.

I think Cadeau reclassed back into his original class? So same age as a normal freshman

Well it’s time for me to admit I don’t understand reclassifying .Some go up and some go down. So evidently Cadeau at one time classified back a year so now he can reclassify up to a senior. Am i right or way off?

Regarding the discussion in the offseason thread about the importance of the 4 spot, man Malcolm Thomas would be incredible in that defensive versatile 4 spot (paired with a skilled 5 in Buchanan). That intensity and mobility as a helpside defender would be a smooth transition after Dunn leaves us. This is where Igor and Traudt not panning out sucks cause we could take a Malcolm Thomas with Traudt or Igor here. Instead because of their absence and us missing out on a stretch 4 in 2023 (TJ Power) and the addition we added this year being a one year rental (Groves) we need to prioritize 3pt shooting over all else.

Which I get. But its frustrating especially when it means that if Dunn is gone staff will most likely once again try to pursue a grad transfer. And Hodge while decent isn’t what we need at the 4 defensively and tbd if he’s a Sam Hauser level shooter.

Malcolm Thomas will probably end up at Syracuse or Villanova. Just a better in every way Maliq Brown.

(the dream would be John Furphy, the aussie, in 2023, playing whatever minutes we would assign to Groves to develop for the future/be the successor to Dunn. And then you can take a Malcolm Thomas forward, and then a Niko Bundalo forward in 2025).

Basically what Im saying is imagine a future core 7 of Bliss Gertrude Kon Bond JacksonKeith Malcom Thomas and Buchanan. Thow in London Jemison as another wing forward developing in there.

Man… this @Hooandtrue is like a @haney/@DavetheWave clone w/ the wit of a @DFresh11 and the DAWG of @BDragon… his 3PT% is a little low, but I think he’s bought in… I hope he commits to LRA soon…
