Sarcasm? Never once did I say either of those things, only that they’ll be good and have a shot at being a Tourney team. Could see them finishing anywhere from 4th-10th in the league. Probably won’t do my serious league power rankings until sometime next month, only finished my breakdowns for about half the league so far.

I was impressed with Mintz against us last year … and Starling had a high pedigree and ranking out of high school.

I misunderstood your assessment; I apologize for that response. I thought you were agreeing with Dauster and Fanta in the video that Syracuse will have one of the best backcourts in the country. I thought it was an absurd conclusion on their part, so I made a mental leap that was obviously unwarranted.

Mintz is definitely good…very good. Not sure about Starling though, as I think he shot less than 30% from 3…if I am remembering correctly; he might be good, but he still has a lot to prove, so a bit of a wild card.

When I look at who left and who remained or transferred in my question is: how do they compensate for the 30 ppg scored by Edwards and Girard? Mintz is going to be Mintz, but where does that significant of a scoring pop come from? Not sure.

So the Duke fans think the Tony Bennett era is over because we won only 70% of our games and two conference titles over the last four years?

And, oh yeah: We beat Duke three times during that span.

The NCAA record is ugly, can’t deny that. But let’s get some perspective.

Pretty weak for a team coming off a final 4 with hopes to stay in ACC double bye territory. Unless … Colorado is top 25 or so (Torvik has them 26) or K-State/Providence winner is good (I don’t think either will be, but Kim English seems to be a good recruiter)

I think it is weak as well. Duke’s non-conference schedule is quite strong, and UNC is about the same – if not a bit weaker – as ours. From what I have seen the non-conference schedules of ACC teams are weak; this is very bad for the conference. Obviously, we need the ACC teams to have strong schedules – and win a fair amount of those games – to earn high seeds in the tournament, and strengthen the conference long term.

How soon after this do you think Shannon sells On3 to like Amazon or Apple and then in a year creates his 4th high school sports ranking/scouting site?
