I will say at Texas AnM I didnt look great on my small plane flight the next morning to Dallas on the way to Nashville and the legendary coach at AnM then noticed. He gave me a crisp 100 dollar bill and told me to buy me a sprite and come to Texas AnM.
It certainly is serious and it means something. Guys arenāt barnstorming the country and generally the list of officials is on the smaller side for a variety of reasons including the rules said so. But thereās also some smoke and mirrors.
My general advice to all students is visit as many schools as you can and I believe its good to see a variety of different ones via unofficials etc.
Largely true ⦠I had a lot of offers - mostly academics reasons - because it made it so I didnāt need much scholarship money from a basketball budget ⦠I ended up at the one of only 4 schools I had actually visited ⦠comfort level with surroundings is still a big thing for a 17 year old.

But also not an atypical story especially for the time. As @DavetheWave mentioned a lot of time the choice will come down to familiarity and a trusted confidant can help sway that decision.
