For all the what ifs UVA has experienced over the years, losing Austin Nichols is the one that always makes me wonder about that team.
That team had a lot of pieces and maybe a star player was that missing link…not a national champion that year but hopefully much better than a 5 seed, 4 game losing streak, and a blowout to Florida in the 2nd round.
imo this would be a successful season, esp if it means we get the core of Dunn, iMac, and Rohde back.
Addendum: it always feels like our 4-6 seed teams underperform leading into March. Like they showed signs of being elite but something happened along the way (Reece injury, Wilkins illness in 2017, etc). So this probably wouldn’t feel successful but it would be given the unknowns.
I took weight training for my PE credits with John Gamble. That’s a blast from the past.
Guy was awesome. He was one of the world’s strongest men, but he treated average Joe’s like me the same as football players. Super guy, super supportive, and got me a lot stronger too.
That’s old school. Like that I grew up. Always laugh when I’m working with kids and they can’t believe when i do that. I tell em if you need more than a finger you shouldn’t have been lifting it
It’s preseason eve, and I wanted to send off the offseason thread in style with a “biggest moment of the offseason” poll, but then I realized it’s Reece being back and nothing else is close. So there we go — we have a potential first round draft pick Senior PG coming back for one last (presumably) season and that’s pretty awesome. Reece!!
Really cool read. I think that’s the first time I’ve seen a 900 pound deadlift and thought “hmm that seems lightweight in comparison to his other lifts.”
