That first opponent could be tough.

Yes. X is not in green
#43?? Not worth taking the time to listen to that.
Iāve never heard of that outlet and it just seems to be one young-ish kid Iāve never heard of. Maybe heās some got good insight, maybe not, I donāt know.
But I donāt think #43 is so crazy. I think itās probably the low end of what Iād predict as a reasonable case, but I could see it happening if the offense doesnāt improve, if the defense isnāt as good as we are hoping, the young guys are promising but a year or two away, the up-transfers have a tough time adjusting, iMac is just good not great, Reece is marginally better but more or less the same. Etc. I donāt think itās crazy is all Iām sayingā¦
Actually not a bad overview for a young guy starting out ⦠did more homework than most national dudes.
Do we think UVA will be better in
Tough call. More experience for younger guys next year, but missing Reece and maybe Dunn in 2025 might not be idealā¦
And since this is the offseason thread, and not the preseason thread, allow me a backward looking gripe about the last two years: I think Tony looked at March of 2023 as the culmination of a 2-year project, but it wasnāt ⦠or it was, I guess, it was just a pointless projectā¦
He shouldāve been building toward March of 2024, but we didnāt⦠(what that would have looked like in practice: more Reece by himself, trying to keep everyone in our frontcourt, giving Bond some discrete time / discrete role last year, making sure Elijah didnāt tear his ACL, etc.)
I canāt even recognize anyone from these blurry pixels. Except Zay. Can we spring for a better phone
IMac Bond Buchanan are the non-greens.
Okay, I watched. Itās a decent preview in that he goes through the roster fairly extensively, but he doesnāt really do much to explain the #43 ranking. He just says that he doesnāt like the roster that much / doesnāt think we upgraded that much. I think thatās a bit of a superficial but probably fair take just based on a cursory look. No big name transfers and no 5-stars. We all hope Reece makes the final leap, Dunn proves the first round predictions correct, one or two of the youngsters can contribute right away, the up-transfers all work out, etc. etc., but as I said above, thereās a real risk that they donāt / those things donāt really happen.
Frankly, Iām loving how under the radar we are right now
Itās very hard to know how most teams are going to shake out with the new rules everyone is playing under. How fast will FR impact? Are the FR rankings for players even accurate? Which transfers from smaller schools will excel and which ones will bomb? We have seen transfers we never heard of play well at places like WF. I also find that writers who cover sports nationally in all sports have very superficial knowledge. While I still canāt believe that we lost to Furman I trust TB as a coach and I love the potential and make up of these players. I am looking forward to this and future seasons.
