2023 UVa Offseason Chatter

I really want to start PredictItUVA to let fans bet real money on these takes like predictit (and a few other markets) have for politics.

I’d love to get 1:1 odds on Dunn being on the 24-25 roster.

I think you have found the perfect idea to siphon away all of my money

This site does user-created prediction markets, but it’s play money that can only be converted into charity donations (of course, they’ll happily offer you the option to buy more play money with dollars): https://manifold.markets/

Who runs the Embrace the Pace twitter account? They posted this 22h ago right as HGN posted this… shorter text but basically word for word in meaning

Edit: also quoting the same tweet that HGN did

Not really sure where to put this so I’ll let it graze here:

Some interesting stuff from @Cuts_from_The_Corner:

Quick(ish) comment: playing individual guys 30+ mpg makes sense when they are awesome and playing very tight rotations makes some sense in certain circumstances, but I wouldn’t mind if Tony got a bit more Leonard Hamilton in his PT approach in periods when we are trying to figure out what works. It seems like next year is one of those times. (and also, in some ways, every year since the natty year has seemed like one of those times).

Will be interesting with no Reece to see who emerges as the guy Tony trusts now

Yes, I also look forward to the 24-25 season when we will find that out

Outside of Imac thats kinda what I am thinking

Sidestepping the Reece pothole, I guess I kinda think that one way for Tony to trust more players is for Tony to trust more players. (I.e., who Tony trusts is an internal thing that relates to the way that Tony’s brain works, not necessarily something that is external to Tony’s brain).

I couldn’t find a suitable thread for this, but I didn’t want to start one just for it. For years, this sat in the back of a dresser drawer because I didn’t want to pay $300+ to have it framed. Until I discovered on Amazon a frame specifically designed for shirts. Very affordable, and now hanging on the wall!

Cool find. I’ve got a lot of nostalgic t-shirts just hanging in the closet (including this one). I might have to look into this.

I def had that shirt can’t remember what happened to it. They had one on every seat for the first JPJ game, but were like size XXL so I never wore it ha.

I caught a Boar’s Head Inn three point club t-shirt one game at U-Hall when Crotty hit a three. I think it was against Wolford, man I sure wish I still had that thing!

LOL. The ones in our section were all XL or L, if I am not mistaken. At 6’4" & 250 lbs, I could never wear mine, either.

I have one of them too. Seeing this means im going to find it and do something similar.

On Amazon, search for “memorabilia display case”. Lots of different options, but about every third or fourth listing will be for something like the above. The price point should be between $60 and $70, as that is what I paid. They are really easy to set up, too. The front is hinged, and it comes with hangers.
