Free country, free market economy. So long as it’s not materially hurting anyone, and child labor laws are still being respected, then who are we (whether as individuals or the government) to tell people not to earn money in whatever way they see fit?

Bringing the Taine talk from the late recruiting thread here. I’m curious about whether he is more impactful on offense as a shooter or driver. I agree with @DavetheWave that his mechanics look compact and repeatable, we just haven’t seen enough to know what he looks like at higher volumes. I think if you squint, you can see some potential as a driver: he’s got a solid frame for burrowing into a guy and creating space for himself at the rim, not sure if his handles are there enough for that to be a big part of his game. Maybe he has a RS-Soph Devon kind of season? I think that would be a big win for him developmentally.

Agree with both of you. I think Taine is like an action guy. One or two hard dribble pull up shooter (even from 3 on maybe step backs). He looks way better in rythm than just a spot up wide open clank guy
I would have to see his Iowa points from 2 seasons ago but I bet they are semi hard earned type buckets and not all stand still 3s.
Give Taine some leash!

Man I (and many others) thought for sure Taine would be transferring each of the past two off seasons. But he is sticking it through and working hard and I respect the hell out of that.
I hope he gets rewarded with some meaningful PT. And in turn I hope he rewards us fans by getting buckets and getting stops.

Taine also provides versatility if the other team is playing a bigger, flat footed 3. He can stretch the floor and hopefully slash a bit
