Wait if UVA isn’t at the bottom who is?

After Week 2, The Athletic had them 3rd to last P5. My guess is BC leaps them and gap to bottom btw UVA and Northwestern as WORST IN P5 decreases.

Northwestern is awful. Iowa St has about 780 yrds total offense this yr. BC is in the same group as UVa. VT is in that boat too. Stanford is ready to fit right in in the ACC. Az st is knocking on the door.

Not saying the Hoos can beat all or any of those programs. Just when I watch them I see a lot of incompetence and lack of talent relative to who they are playing.

ASU had like 8 turnovers in their game against Fresno State last night and lost Rashada their starting QB to injury.

In no way are we in a good spot right now but there’s plenty of P-5 teams struggling similarly to us. I’m at least encouraged that we’re getting some of our underclassmen quality PT early in the year, gives us something to build off going into the future (even if my pessimistic side is worried about losing half of them to the portal and NIL).

What im worried about is the Oline. Im afraid we could lose both quarterbacks in the same game. What happens then?

They line up and trot the next person out.

Watching CSU last night and seeing them have oline transfers absolutely frustrated me. I think there’s a path to dig out of the hole but it’s deep the oline has been neglected for years and 1 cycle won’t fix it

Heard the commentators say CSU brought in 12 OL transfers via the portal this past offseason. Their results weren’t fantastic last night but they did enough to keep things competitive.

Main problem I have is the decision to only carry 15 scholarship OL on the roster. IMO before you build anything else at a place like UVA, you’ve gotta build up depth in the trenches and the easiest way to do that is stacking up options for your two and three deep. We should have at minimum 18 scholarship OL on this team at all times, would’ve allowed us a couple more slots for transfer portal additions and makes sure there’s some semblance of playable depth in case of injuries.

Agree on the building and depth on the Oline. In unit that realistically needs to run at least 2 deep to nowadays 15 just doesn’t provide enough options. No matter how much the game changes the foundation of every team is their line D and O. Colorado for all their hype is thin on the Oline and unimpressive on the Dline there’s a hard ceiling.

I believe we only have 2 QBs on the roster. That is really rolling the dice

There’s a walk on too

It is but what else are they going to do? Gotta go out and play. San Fran did it in the NFV championship last yr

For the love of god please close this thread and let basketball season commence

Over/under we average 35K attendance in our remaining home games this year?

Waaaaay under

Less than JPJ

Over but mostly opposing fan bases get cheap tickets. VT fans will sell out the place in order to see their only conference win this season
