Looking at last year’s men’s format, it looks like they did a winners’ bracket and a losers’ bracket. This is the inaugural women’s tournament, but… probably will do the same then?

It’s listed as a two-day tournament, so either they’re playing some gnarly doubleheaders, or they are making two separate brackets of 4 that don’t cross over into each other.
Edit: looking at the teams listed, I’d put my money on an “A” bracket of LSU/UConn/VT/UCLA, with UVA and the other teams in a “B” bracket.

Good catch. The men’s tournament is a 3-day tournament again this year, so they’ll do what they did last year. The women’s format must be as you say.
If one bracket is LSU/UConn/VT/UCLA, that’s basically what the winners’ bracket would have been anyway…
