Well, if you believe fringe media saying that this is Carla Williamsâ latest and most current contract, her term expires on 5/31/25 and she was supposed to meet with Ryan no later than 6 months prior to that to discuss extension or non-renewal. Take it for what you will.
Great post, St. Lou and couldnât agree more. How likely do we think 2 and 3 are to happen though? Have there been any indications that the school recognizes these issues and is committed to fixing them or is this just what weâre hoping will happen before the next HC is hired?
There is a world where we bottom out so bad this year that the guy coming in has a ton of leverage to get the right changes made. We werenât desperate enough when Bronco left to change anything.
Michigan was pretty bad this year. Offense was horrific, and they fired their OC â after beating their rival! A rival thatâs going to the playoffs, too.
I donât think anyone believes Michiganâs coach is coaching for his job next year. Tony certainly is.
This may be a hot take, but this Michigan team was a QB away from being a playoff team. They were less than a QB away from beating Washington, Illinois, and Indiana, and if they win those theyâre dancing right now.
About what anyone would expect, these two football programs are worlds apart (now with academics we are neck and neck).
But itâs a much larger school with lots more departments and majors of varying difficulty that a scholarship athlete devoting 40+ hours a week to in season could successfully navigate more easily than Anthropology or Sociology here.
Make that 19 signees. Flipped a former USF commit.
Itâs not a bad class. Held together fairly well through the season, only one flip loss to an SEC school, but picked up two good-looking G5 flips late. Would be nice if we can get a couple more by February, maybe late bloomers or coaching cycle pickups (doesnât look like UNC has much to steal; any other coaching changes to watch? Liberty maybe if their HC gets the P4 call-up?).
That said, may all be for naught if the coaching staff cycles out next year as I expect; most of these guys could either bolt at that point before ever making a mark, or be promptly recruited over or pushed out by the next coaching staff.
Could still see des getting removed. Landing transfers is more crucial then ever. He needs 6 wins to keep his job.
Are we sure weâll have 11 mil after next year to get a new coach?
I would not worry about that. There will be a coach on the sideline after next season. They could bargain basement shop and get the defensible coaching choice. Accomplished G5 HC make only 1M/year.
Today I remembered that we did a 2 sport coaching search in 2009. We hired both Tony Bennett and Mike London in 2009. So historyâs repeating itself in 2025.
Can anyone walk through why the chris Graham article from November is incorrect? That article claims the buyout sits around 14.4 mil and reading through the contract that seems pretty in line.

Iâm not a huge fan of him, so I tend to stay away. The real question who is our next QB? I see weâre starting to throw offers and you canât build a OL with no QB.
âThe largest one-time cash contribution and largest non-capital gift to Virginia Football in program history.â
Youâre welcome
See what he can do with it! The donor must believe in TE and want him to succeed. Would love to know who it is
