šŸˆ 2024/25 Virginia Football Off-Season Thread

This is all well and good I hope it works I guess, but I am a little concerned about a 6 win season on the back of a one time cash infusion just prolonging our Elliott era misery. I’m beating a dead horse and being a Debbie downer, but I just really don’t see it with him.

Whole program has me very confused right now.

Not to hijack the topic…but doesn’t the revenue sharing kick in next year?

Do you think this is to cover that?

In theory yes, but final court approval happens in April:

It would be really funny if this was like a really big gift and we just became Colorado for a year.

All we need is Chris Long as HC :eyes:

Miller Moss setting up 2 visits for next week, 1 SEC and 1 ACC. Doubt it’s us but would love to have him.

The Elliott era is over. Don’t use this money for that. Bank it, make a plan, figure out what happens after next year. Spending it on this year’s transfer class or whatever would be idiotic. This is the type of stuff we need to kick off whatever the next era is, not make the end of this era slightly less shit.

How many wins in 2025 would make a large spend in the portal now worth it?

He is trying to find a way to buy 6 wins vs. dead walk into 2 wins.

He’s without question the funniest man alive.

Leaves UVa for a ā€œpauseā€, takes New Mexico job and said he didn’t really want to pause, builds up their fanbases hopes with a lot of puffed up language about long haul and standard and then BAM, leaves after one year for Utah State and the program loses its best players and it’s OC.

Perhaps UNM should have made him ride horseback before hiring to ensure he’d be committed to doing whatever was needed!

Beck working for the other side of the Holy War rivalry now must be interesting for him and his family. Wonder how much longer Whittingham is gonna coach and if he sees Beck as a successor.

Utah already has a formal coach in waiting
