He made a hell of play on a 3rd and long to convert on the ground⦠hopefully after a championship next weekend he gets another shot in the NFL.
Yes itās AFP but thought this was a cool and quick read:
This is great:
āI remember one of my classmates once said, āOh, todayās my birthday.ā I was like, āHappy birthday! How old are you?ā Sheās like, āIām 18.ā At the time, I think I was maybe like 39 or 38, and sheās like, āOh, wow, thatās my momās age.ā In that moment, I felt very old,ā Ferguson said.
I have that realization far too often
Micah Gaffney is headed up here tomorrow (football player just graduated) to spend couple 3 days with Fresh. My kids asked how old he is and then were like ādad is he gonna like you you are 54ā
Kids: if he likes beeras and NBA Finals he will
Any NYC professionals that have time for him lemme know as he is on the jobby job hunt
AFP basically summarized an article and interview from the Philadelphia Inquirer. I mean, he linked to the Inquirer, but AFP lifted entire sections from the Inky and contributed no original reporting. He doesnāt even block quote. This piece of ājournalismā should be called something else entirely.
Now for positivity, hereās Brick speaking for himself.
Also the link to the Inky article so you donāt have to click through to AFP.
Yeah I didnāt do any digging. Iām on Android and Google News pushed that at me. Thought it was interesting so shared
Oh I didnāt mean to imply I was criticizing you in any way. Thanks for bringing the story to our attention, I didnāt know about it and liked reading about Brick. Iām calling out AFP for straight up plagiarism.
I have no idea what the norms / standards are on this type of thing, but it does strike me Graham should have been much more careful and clear that he was mostly just quoting.
It was good of him to bring the story to more UVa fansā attention thoā¦
Errybody know Fresh is big with the young crowd.
ACC stealing one from the SEC ā in football.
The UFL is kind of tough to watch, but this is still really cool for Bryce. Hopefully, he can catch on with an NFL team as a backup.
Championship seasons just follow some guys around. #3totheneck!
This should earn him at least a camp invite.
UVa with either the easiest or second easiest schedule in the P4 depending on where you lookā¦
Really need to see 7+ wins this season to feel good about it
Think 5-6 wins is worst case scenario because prob good enough to retain his job but feels like this year is our ceiling with the talent we brought in thanks to a very large donation and the schedule lining up as it is
Iām not sure Carla keeps around CTE if itās 5-6. Not a particularly compelling resume for an extension
I just want some semblance of a standard at UVA. Groh got fired at 5-7, 3-9 after some successful (at least by todayās standard) years it was clearly unacceptable
5 and 6 are very different. Do you really think theyād fire at 6? I hope for our sake they would, but Iām not sure they would. 5 heās for sure gone. 6-- Idk⦠We have been historically pretty accepting of mediocrity. I think they might say heās showing progress and made a bowl and move on. I know weāre pushing the chips in on football right now, so hopefully they would say 6 isnāt enough, but it makes me pretty nervous to think about. Retention on 6 wins is a worst case scenario in my mind.
@Jerome is right, this is almost certainly his ceiling. Couldnāt line up better. Not sure how he would pull in better players than this year once weāre on āan even playing fieldā with the new cap (I actually think we will almost certainly be below average in terms of our financial offers because I expect a lot of cap circumvention that we wonāt engage in). I would hope that on a ceiling season we expect better than 6. I want at least 7, and honestly 8 should be the goal. I want our coachās ceiling for wins to be at least as close double digits than bowl eligibility.
What makes me a little nervous is I donāt see us on any āthese coaches are on the hot seat this seasonā clickbait lists. I guess we donāt get anyone any clicks, but I would expect us in there to fill space. Makes me concerned no one has heard Elliott is on the hotseat.
Maybe, but if itās true that she wanted Bronco to fire Howell because of defenses that ranked 62, 66, and 104 in his last three years, then why didnāt she require the same of Elliott w/r/t Kitchings, whose offenses last three years have been 126, 95, and 107?
