In adventures of small sample size, UC Irvine is #5 overall with the preseason prior removed. They beat the stuffing out of the fighting Leon Bonds.
Does Russel Turner go in the non-Ron coaching bracket?
He actually has VA ties. Hampden Sydney player. Asst there and at Wake under Odom. Been in CA since. Assistant at Stanford, GSW. Got the Irvine job in 2011.
What’s the real motivation behind @DFresh11 pushing for Sanchez?
- Fresh is always real. He’s seen the light.
- J Willy’s orders
- So LRA can keep getting access
- He just wants Eli to stay
- Ron promised him a job
- Afraid Ryan Odom will remember Fresh once gave him a wedgie
If Ron gets the job, he promised to put in a good word with Nike to have @DFresh11 run the Peach Jam.
Is there an All of the Above line?
So good
Oh yeah forsure. But being a not good to bad team and self sabotage are 2 completely different things. We handled an inferior team. Good. But they didn’t just let us form a layup line.
This gonna kill my algos on Spotify but am listening!
Listening to Vampire Weekend is step 1 of 3 of you joining BlueSky
When you include Powers scrimmage stats, he would be well under 20% shooting. That’s the disconcerting part.
Being tall and shooting isn’t as special as it once used to be. So if that’s your skill, you gotta do it better than any. Even with Groves shooting 50%+, no one thought he was a huge asset.
Power not off to a great start. Maybe he’s more of an impact next year but this year seems more developmental. To @AdventiveQuasar point earlier though I did like he turned the corner and hit that mid range over the small defender.
Kaufman-Renn and Igor, guys that I would have preferred. Hell even Traudt or JAR since they at least hit those wide open threes.
Step tu is tu being on there?
Anyone see Czar’s post on the Sabre in response to a question about Bliss and when he might be ready to play.
“He can play whenever he wants to. lol” was the response.
Hmmmmm …
DISCLAIMER: The Following is theory and not fact
My guess is that Bliss knows Sanchez pushed for Trent Perry over him out of HS and then also pushed for Perry last spring and maybe that plus coaching change plus the injuries(which are still a factor) = still weighing on sitting out and saving eligibility.
My hope, assuming this is true, is that he chooses to play seeing how his skill set (and a wing) are the missing pieces to this roster. And that him and Sanchez make up or whatever if there is any tension there at all.
If that implication is correct then it sounds like he’s made his decision already.
Maybe. Still sounds tbd (and he’s still practicing with the team and traveling with them whereas Warley is gone gone)
2 issues: 1) he already redshirted. Unclear how he’s saving eligibility. 2) if he were good enough for his skill set to matter, he’d be playing.
True and true BUTif he’s physically cleared to play he falls father and farther behind every game he doesn’t play. That said aren’t we passed the 30 day transfer window. He can’t redshirt again so he can’t save this year of eligibility either way.
On the 1st point, you can medical redshirt after a developmental redshirt.
On the 2nd point, if he’s choosing to sit to reserve his eligibility elsewhere, it’s not a matter of being good enough or not to see the floor. But the injuries could have him way behind for sure.
If he’s cleared to play as Czar implies how could he get a med RS?
