I’m sure there is some bs paper work they can file citing foot injuries or whatnot and the foot surgeries/wanting to heal or some bs

Again this is all my assumption.

For all we know it could be that he’s skipping class or whatnot.

Bliss has had enough surgical procedures that I’m confident if he opted out this year he’d likely have all the documentation he needs to get a medical redshirt.

You can read that as he can play but coaches aren’t putting him in because he’s so far behind (because of prior injury, youth, etc), which has been suggested elsewhere.

Its the ā€œwhenever he wantsā€ that has me doubting that perspective.

No, you pretty much have to read it as his choice.

The why wouldn’t he be in uniform if that was the case?

You’re like the 4th person today I’ve seen directly or indirectly talk about joining BlueSky.

There are already entirely too many social apps. Please don’t make a new one a thing.

However you choose to interpret the message, it would seem prudent to me for anybody clinging to hope that bliss could make a difference this year to lower their expectations on that front.

Agreed. Not dressing also is a tick on the side of elective redshirt.

But like, why wouldn’t they just announce it? Unless there’s a little lag between his final decision and the announcement …

The gohoos guy on discord is saying the foot still bothering him. No idea on the extracurricular’s part. Was a supposed 6-8 recovery window that we are now approaching/are in. idk

Sounds like a medical redshirt. Or a misdirect for Tennessee staff that clearly lurk the UVA boards (or a cover for Bliss to redshirt and save eligibility but he’s still actually good to go and just hasn’t decided yet)

I’ve heard some rumors suggesting there’s more going on with Bliss without specifics, but I don’t really know…he is dealing with a foot injury, so it’s not like that’s a made up thing and he’s 100%. If he wanted to transfer, he’d be gone. But there could be other stuff going on as well. It’s a messy time for these guys.

Not necessarily directly related, was thinking about this lately…it’s funny how the insane money these kids are making has changed the attitudes about redshirts and preserving eligibility haha

Maybe I’m too old to understand team dynamics for todays college kids, but it would seem weird for him to be around the team, seemingly on good terms, if it generally was known that he’s just sitting on eligibility to preserve optionally down the road. Like dude, if you’re healthy, and you’re wearing the uni, you’re on the team, or you’re not.

Make that 5. At the moment Bluesky is adding roughly a million users a day.

I may consider him starting to help steady the team, but start at the 3.

Then TJ can play against the second units and gain confidence.

Obviously I don’t know the specifics but if there are other things going on. It make sense for the coach to get these kids an ultimatum especially if they’re making money. I doubt boosters are too excited to having the foot this kids bill and have him sit on the bench.

Doesn’t really sound like a player we want on this team anyways.

Because issuing ultimatums in relationships has always worked out fine.

Well yeah but if doesn’t want to be here… then what are we doing?

Idk the end game or anything. I’m just speculating here

Seems like we may not get full picture of the dynamics and his decision making. So putting that aside, my main questions are:

  1. Does he know whether he may try to suit up this year (assuming injury improves)?

  2. If not yet, when he does know, will we know? Obviously if he plays we will know. But I hope the school would put something out when a decision is certain if he isn’t going to play.
