Very strange, could be a moot point if he gets drafted but he’s a guy who probably pitches a lot of innings for us next year if he sticks around.
Maybe looking for NIL but honestly he’s not your typical SEC caliber pitcher.

Not UVA related but a massive move within college baseball. One of the best coaches in the country loses in heartbreaking fashion in game three of the CWS finals, and then the next day takes the job at his rival’s program. For those who are unaware he’s now gone TCU - TAMU - Texas.

Grad transfer commit from William and Mary. Was mostly a starter this past season for W&M, 13 starts in 18 total appearances. Went 1-4 with a 5.70 ERA and had 46 K’s in 42 2/3rd IP. Main issue was walks, gave up 33.
Throws mid 90’s on his fastball and touches 97-98, so another potential fireballer who we can max out by moving them to the bullpen.

Have been waiting for it to be confirmed on twitter or anywhere else but 64analytics website is showing Tristan Head as being in the portal.
Could end up being wrong but it would make sense given that he’s a good player who doesn’t really have a clear path to playing time over the next year or two.

Just so everyone here is updated, O’Connor has been named as a candidate for the A&M job by Kendall Rogers on D1’s website.
Typically this wouldn’t be cause for much concern, BOC was linked to the LSU and Texas jobs in previous years and turned those down. But there’s a poster on TheSabre who is very much in the know with these type of things saying there’s something to this one, so very much on edge for the next day or two as the process goes along.
A&M will have to work quickly with the transfer portal entry deadline coming up on July 2nd so I’d expect something one way or another soon.

I hate to hear that but it was only a matter of time before our non-revenue coaches started getting poached by SEC and Big 10 programs

It’s not a guarantee that it happens by any means, A&M is gonna swing big at a large list of names and BOC has turned down the biggest jobs in college baseball before. But they are one of the few programs that has the kind of fuck you money to convince a coach to leave a really good situation and bolt to another place, especially in lieu of losing a guy they thought would be there for the next 10-15 years to their rivals.
