Fresh is literally the most interesting man in the world
I’m convinced he is
If I told you our other roommate then it may put it over the top
I’ll bite, who ? We need a full backstory on the pregame tomorrow
George Steinbrenner?
Oh would you like to hear about when he called the apartment and I answered?
Great friend of mine UVa grad Timmy Coughlin. His dad coached the Jags at the time. Running joke then was Fresh was the most famous roommate for like 6 months until it all changed
Fresh, I just got on and i was wondering something. Did you ever meet the Queen?
Walker got a mention in D1 Baseball’s recent overview of the first year class of baseball Hoos.
“ Six-foot-4, 230-pound first baseman Antonio Perrotta and 6-3, 200-pound outfielder Walker Buchanan give Virginia two more physical lefty bats who could develop into everyday players down the road.”
I think they messed up which side he bats from though.
He’s a righty but he pummels my son and his 3 brothers with both arms. Easy mistake to make if you come to a family dinner
RIP Mike Martin, one of the good guys!
Jay Woolfolk is the Sunday starter… no more set-up man!
Blanco as the Saturday guy over Hodges is the biggest surprise here IMO. BOC highlighted Hodges as one of the top arms in the fall.
Still more of a testament to how deep our pitching staff is, we’ve got 6-7 guys who could realistically be a starting pitcher for us.
I wonder if the idea isn’t to save Hodges for the ODU game? Then work him in later… however we do play a ranked Iowa the next Saturday so maybe not the strategy?
Potentially, though I’d be surprised if the staff did that to have an advantage for the sake of one midweek game. I’m thinking the more likely possibility is that Blanco at this stage is a steadier arm for us, at least judging off last year Hodges has Friday caliber stuff but could be inconsistent at times especially when it came to giving up the long ball. Blanco is another pitcher in the vein of Parker/Edge IMO, maybe with a little higher ceiling but the same smart, deception heavy approach.
I’d prefer three power arms in the weekend rotation, but Blanco’s K/IP ratio was really good last year.
Opening Day is here ladies and gentlemen.

I’ll try to provide score updates every half inning or so.
- Hofstra leadoff man Palmer reaches on an infield single up the middle.
- Next pitch is flied out to CF for out #1.
- Pickoff attempt ends up in foul territory. Runner moves up to 2nd.
- Next batter chops one to Becker at 3rd who makes the throw for out #2.
- Base hit up the middle scores the runner from 2nd. 1-0 Hofstra.
- Another pickoff attempt ends up in foul ground. Runner goes 1st to 2nd.
- O’Connor gets a K (1) swinging on a full count to end the inning.
1-0 Hoftra heading into the bottom of the 1st. Not the cleanest start for O’Connor but he avoided further damage.
Was a pretty shaky start.
