Totally agree with this. Is there an “HGN” doppleganger out there somewhere focused on football recruiting?
One reflection as I just moved over from the Sabre here: the implied community norms are really important to keeping the conversation fun and productive and not toxic. People generally call out crappiness and own up to getting things wrong. People who have been around a while don’t make it feel exclusionary. Moderators take care of stuff and it’s clear what the issue was. All to say, keep it up folks.
Oh yeah, and the platform is very good. You can see who is responding to what I’m a neat sequence and tag people and DM.
Absolutely agree with the sentiments regarding a sense of community here. Things can occasionally get sparky, though it is rarely personal. Arguments here are generally thoughtful and substantive, even when people have strong opinions.
Obviously HGN is a unique and invaluable resource for the site, and his hard work and dedication and incredible reporting blows me away. But I also want to give big props to @DFresh11 who really goes out of his way to try to get to know all of us here and make us all feel a part of the community. The best part is that it is just a totally natural and genuine part of his nature
It’s always a great day to be a Hoo here at LRA!
Appreciate that Captain and everyone else that brought me up here. This is why you go to Virginia if you can or be a fan of Virginia sports. The diverse perspectives around here on literally all things is just impressive, Imma guess it isnt the same at other institutions. Before LRA I had zero social media apps or whatever but @Merch and HGN and now everyone here got me into following closer and talking a lot of shit about UVa hoops and sports.
PS- I learned early here to be careful about making sure some my BS was correct cause people come back with real stats on ya real quick. Anything from 3 pt % to BTUs in beer or whatever.
Go Hoos!
I think I followed HGN over here from Twitter. Then, suddenly, the door slammed shut behind me . . . .
For me it’s unreadable a lot because of the rabbit trails that are unrelated to basketball.
No idea Hoo that could be…
CTB and staff are going to need to head about four hours west to evaluate the influx of int’l kids in a few weeks. Coming from a location very familiar to the staff and team. And another 7 footer from Senegal. Really good 2024 talent overall.
Is it that same school where Oscar Tschiebwe originally went to?
No. More southwest from cville than due west. Info will be out in next two weeks when school officially starts.
What’s the blues clues here?
Damn, I thought you came here to get away from me?
If you’re talking about Huntington Prep, yeah. I seem to recall other targets from there as well but he’s a recent.
My guess is Oak Hill
No there was a school before Huntington that Tschewbie was at in Virginia I believe. @HoozGotNext mentioned it was notorious for bringing in african talent
Stalking social media interaction I dont think there is a kid Williford has wanted more than Caleb Williams LOL
It is
Mountain Mission School?
Oak Hill. Will be a few days until info is released. But interesting roster for the upcoming year. Some of the guys were a nice late surprise and will definitely be of interest to CTB and staff. The news is out to the college staffs who were already recruiting a few of these kids…one in particular. Interesting to see some of these kids make the decision to come to the US to play in hs and will certainly make it easier to analyze these players when playing against top US talent versus leagues/competition in their respective home countries.
I am all for it if they are these West African 6-8+ bouncy mobile forwards/bigs.
I really all in on Luke Bamgboye out of Maryland.
