12u soccer where defense can actually win championships
Nahā¦ thereās no solid team defense until HSā¦ kids under that age canāt keep a solid shape and donāt understand the offside trap.

Ha !! My 10U Boys Rec team causes 4 or 5 offsides per gameā¦ Iām sure Tony would get to 10 easily!!!

Remember forwards that age donāt understand what they are doing eitherā¦ offsides gets called a lot. It doesnāt always mean the defense causes it.
Alsoā¦ 10U plays buildout line, no headers and no slide tacklesā¦ different game.

Iāll skip past all of the size pontificating to pontificate about this tidbit instead - @XHoo is this true, any indications of whoās involved with uniform design changes or how the design process proceeds? I wonder how much our current Uniās were the result of input from Bennett who Iām sure has heard our pleas for more orange; wonder if the players have any say?
Build out line at 10u?? Thatās funny ā¦ where is that cuz that ends at 8U where I am.
What does no headers have to do with elite defense and offside traps?
And yes Iām sure there are plenty of wandering forwards that get caughtā¦ but it also helps to work in sync as a defensive line and have a vocal goalie and center back - all about the communication.
Itās also why I talk to some of the travel coaches in my area about how we play so that they donāt poopoo their players playing rec + club.
Any coach that tells their club players not to play rec too at least through 12 u I have very little respect or patience for.
