Elite defense fundamentally changes when the central defenders can head the ball. Slide tackling also changes the ability of the defense that cannot be overcome. This is my last post about this as it seems you just ask questions about why instead of understanding how important these rules are⦠build out lines in Virginia are 10U and below⦠so since i just moved back to the US i was under the impression all US soccer did that⦠which none of Europe does.
I seem to remember you were a proponent of removing the offsides rule as well⦠which means none of our conversations will ever end amicably since you clearly dont understand competitive soccer strategy as that would effectively kill the game.
Iām not opposed to offsides with VAR.
I can ask you a question - Iām a fan of the Premier League as my favorite to watch ā¦. How many offsides calls/non-calls are incorrect officially by VAR per match day and total of all 38 match days?
Offsides could be tweaked at any level without replay to make it more obvious and easier for the AR to call accurately.
Like maybe any body part that is even with or behind the ball or last defender is legal⦠not just a body part that can touch the ball legallyā¦. It would keep the principle in place but I believe would create more scoring chances.
And even I dislike a rule because itās so hard to officiate accurately especially at the youth level doesnāt mean Iām not trying to teach my kids the best way to play within the rules that exist.
Idk how many hockey fans are on this board but what McDavid is doing this postseason is insane. Whenever a guy is putting up āonly Gretzky and Lemieuxā numbers that should be at the top of the collective sports conscious
Not sure if posted already but updated heights/weights for 2024-25 team. Not sure how relevant this is but noticed same weight for Buchanan. Itās very early in the offseason so prob doesnāt mean much. Nothing else really jumped out at me
