Related - I do think we sometimes suffer from the mindset of āthis is going well, donāt upset the apple cartā despite evidence that itās not really the best thing we could be doing or that thereās trouble brewing.
Itās a big reason we got stuck playing small ball in 2022-2023 because we went on that winning streak after going to itā¦ but we didnāt really do a good job of sanity checking how that was evolving and we learned the wrong lessons from it in-season.

More evidence weāre gonna see some uptempo style, via new commit Chance Mallory.
Mallory was also impressed with their play style. The staff expressed how they want to play faster and be more efficient, which stood out to Mallory.
Lots of practice clips; more evidence of a faster pace and new offense. Itās enough to even soften the hearts of us cynics.

It would be such a welcome surprise to have gotten a steal at shooting guard.
Weāve had so many guard misses since the natty with Casey, Rohde, McCorkle, Gertrude (miss in the sense of not getting anything from him for two years but still TBD).
Getting a positive surprise would be huge.
Sharma is looking more promising than i expected. He will have a role this year.(I hope)
Donāt understand why everyone is acting so surprised. He was player of the year in Canada and him and Kon weāre regularly mentioned as the two premier shooters by analysts in their high school class. He didnāt suddenly get some handles or the ability to pass, heās had it all along. He had the body of a college player by his senior year in high school.
This board was trumpeting the message right out of the gate that he was non-athletic with no evidence of that at all. Heās always had the step back three, the catch and shoot three, off the dribble 3, and the ability to put it on the floor and drive to the basket.
This board was just asleep at the wheel and was not paying attention. You all had Kon hangover and didnāt fully understand what you actually got in Ish Sharma.
Letās watch him in games before we anoint him. Iām excited as hell but there have been others who have been offseason warriors before not performing when the lights come on
Sharma looking impressive against those chairs, no doubt, but I will be reserving my Sharma takes until I see him play some actual hoops.
Less snarky: happy theyāre doing more practice videos, happy that a few of them have featured Sharma knocking down some shots.
They seem to show a bit of what we know already: Sharma has good size for his position and is a good shooter. Thatās good!
But the other question marks remain question marks. I guess there was one clip where he had a nice dish in the lane. Thatās nice, too.
