Nice thing about Mox’s approach, when we face a bad team, we don’t hesitate to just out-athlete them, just go nuts and ram it down their throats. Naturally the intensity slacks off at times in a mismatch like this, but when it’s on, we’re the Harlem Globetrotters.

We were one bucket shy of having three players with double-doubles. Hurd 15 &12, Lauterbach 10 & 10, Lattimore 8 & 13.
Hurd is amazing. What a find. I’m excited about what can happen if we manage to hang on to this underclassman core of Kymora, McGhee, Noyan, and Hurd (and several others) and build around them.

I’ve only see the women play parts of 2 games but in both games she caught my eye. I don’t remember her being a big name reruit like Kymora was but she’s playing great. Women’s team has a big future ahead of them not just this year but in the years ahead. Mox is a good coach. Maybe we should put her in our head coaches of interest🤭

Best moment of the game was when we were down 6 (the biggest lead either team had all game, I think) and Mox called a timeout to set up a… 7-point play. Lauterbach got the and-1, missed the FT, we get the board and Mo hit a 3, Clark stole the inbounds and made a layup. Just like Mox drew it up.

Ugh. Let slip away a big lead, were down 9 with about 5 minutes to go, came roaring back to within 1, and then after that had 5 shots to take the lead, missed them all.
Also free throw line was a killer —- Hoos 7/15 while WSU went 12/14

This time we came back from 9 down with under a minute to go and had a shot to tie it. Didn’t go in.
Finishing 1-2 in Puerto Rico against mid teams (Quad 3 games? can hope they’re Quad 2) is pretty much an NCAA resume disaster, given that the rest of our noncon is cupcakes (except Auburn on 12/5, which now looms big).

Yeah I figured the expected # of wins on this trip was ~2.5.
To be fair we were without Noyan for the whole trip, and today we didn’t have Lattimore either, making our already thin frontcourt even thinner. But still, that was disastrous.

Mox is lucky the three biggest positions in the department (AD, FB HC, MBB HC) are all in high profile flux… No one’s going to pay attention that she’s about to go a third year without the postseason.
