Gillen is an apt comparison. Mox has recruited very well. Sheās high on charisma and has built up great energy around the program. Sheās retained well, too (Mir is the only departure that hurt, and that was an odd case) and the players seem to really love it here. All of this is a minor miracle given what Tina did to us.
But in-game, weāre nowhere near maximizing our talent. Hopefully thatās just because weāre young, and weāll turn that around by next year. But it was also the case with last yearās senior-laden team, so idk.
Do I watch? Over the past 9 days, MBB, WBB, and football are a combined 1-6 (yay for the close win over Holy Cross) and all the losses were ābadā ones. (Florida (MBB) & VT (football) were forgivable, but ugly.) It aināt fun.
That last sequence was classic Moxball. In about 10 seconds, we turn it over, then we steal it, Kymora dribbles it off her foot, recovers it, darts down court and makes a crazy circus shot while making it look easy.
Honestly I donāt know that weāve had this bad of a week across all three of those programs since BT (before Tony). But I understand you have to lose together before you can get a ticket to joy in the morning, or something.
