I agree. I just think we’re really easy to leave as a 4

Sure, it might be hard to prove that they were dropped a seed line as “punishment” (vs some other plausible reason), but not necessarily—imagine a couple committee members getting drunk and shouting at a bar how glad they are that they stuck it to Alabama for Bediako. But difficulties in proving it’s punishment doesn’t it’s not punishment.

NOT A LUNARDI ENDORSEMENT!

But LUNARDI has a plausible listing of Purdue taking the second Philly spot and Bama taking the second Greenville spot, leaving us Tampa. I’d love to drive to either of those spots rather than having to fly, so rooting hard against Purdue and Bama. (Maybe we’re already ahead of one or both of those teams, but I don’t feel remotely confident in that.)

I just keep going back to that UMES game. If we’d beaten them by 40 like VT did, instead of by 24, I bet we wouldn’t be sweating our seeding right now.

if Purdue loses before the B1G semis I think they should fall off the 3 (if they haven’t already).

KU i dont think is even in contention unless they make a deep run…i actually think it’s insane theyre even being held up as a possible 3 in that graphic. they have NINE losses and theyre comparable to UVa on kenpom so it’s not like they can be bumped up on that basis.

Gonzaga probably needs to win the title and get some help…their SoS is even worse than Virginia’s and theyre only 17th in WAB. Plus they only have 1 game that is worth anything left.

TTU is down to 18th in WAB and unless they show out in the tourney, the committee is probably going to knock them a bit for the Toppin injury after going 3-2 without him (even though they did beat ISU in that span).

Alabama should be a 3 unless they lose their QF game.

I think as of now it should be UVA and Alabama, and i dont think it should be that close. if UVA beats NC State in the QF and loses a close one to Miami in the SF I think they’ll be in solid position for a 3.

Also I think ISU should not be considered a top 3 seed lock. If they drop their QF game they should fall to a 4, probably in favor of whichever of TTU or KU does better in the Big 12 tourney (or Gonzaga if neither does well).

No our MOV in the first half of the season has definitely helped. Our metrics would be lower than they are for a 3 loss team if not for that so I’m glad Odom allowed them to run it up in those games.

I was just joking; we’ve definitely benefitted by some of those blow outs early on improving the metrics, along with blowing out teams like State and Texas.

So are we basically looking at a 4 seed at worst if we win Thursday or is a 5 in play?

Absent some wacky scenario (getting boat raced by a double digit seed, in the semis, who went on a tear), I think basically yes.

I think we are a 4 no matter what. But just a hunch.

They’re gonna put Gonzaga or Bama above us bc they were ranked preseason and we weren’t. Whatever.

Louisville just won at Miami without Brown and had a recent stretch where they lost 3/4 ACC games with him. They also almost beat Duke without him and got obliterated in Cameron with him playing.

It would be silly to discount our win.

Going to be funny when they still seed Gonzaga ahead of us.

Up to 10th in the AP poll. Bc humans are lazy I bet this helps with our seed projections. So many of the teams competing with us for a 3-4 seed are behind us in the rankings.

Here is something I just saw on reddit. Not sure if it is accurate, but if true means we probably top out at 4 unless we win the tourney and really don’t want to lose to NCST.

NCAA’s Dan Gavitt: “Wins Above Bubble is important, especially from the selecting of teams. … When it gets to seeding, the predictive [metrics] are a little more important.”

Today’s metrics picture. Results based stuff a little better, predictives a little worse. Whoever said we are a 3 in results and a 5 in predictives is spot on. Good natural experiment…

I really think it’s as simple as win 2 ACCT games and we’re a 3. Win 1 or lose to the 7 and we’re a 4

Just saw this. Pretty incredible statistic…. We will probably play them and he will go 4-4 inside the three point line.

Absolutely don’t want Florida. Our record there during NCAAs is …. not good. Like SLC.
