Had offers from “peer” programs like Pitt, Wake, Cuse, BC, WVU, and most importantly VT, where it’s great to score an early H2H win over Franklin. Also was starting to get SEC/B1G interest, saw he was talking with both South Carolina and Penn State in recent months.

Back in 2002, I drove from San Francisco to Charlotte in 3 days. I stopped in Gallup, NM and Conway, AR. That was the first and only time I’ve ever been in central Arkansas.
I wanted to buy a little souvenir or something from Arkansas and there was a Walmart across the street from my motel that I hit up on my way out. I swear, I was getting looks from the other customers like I was an alien or something. Surely, even in 2002, they’d seen an Asian man in central Arkansas before. There had to be Chinese take out places there. I think I bought a postcard, spent most of the day driving the entire length of Tennessee and was in Charlotte that night.

Lambeth, I don’t know you, so don’t take this the wrong way, and I’ve never been to central Arkansas, but if you’d been driving for two days, it might not just have been that you looked Asian.
When my buddy and I drove from Montana to Charlottesville in three days, it was not my asian-ness that made the folks in the gas station in Kentucky give me a little more room than I strictly needed. And some side eye. Just saying.
