Texas Tech is whooping Iowa St at their place. No Toppin no problem?
I find Iowa state to be a bit overrated. Would love to face them in the tourney
Onyenso on Blake and TDR on Jefferson. Thatās a yes from me dawg
Texas tech winning this is terrible for our seeding
Kansas ran into a buzzsaw similar to us, and we donāt have a Darryn Peterson.
The top teams this season, in particular, are just on another level. Thatās why I donāt think we should get down on ourselves. Our team is really good. Learn from it, move on, and return to taking care of business.
Kansas also beat them 2 weeks ago at home (without Peat but still). But further validates the power of the top teams at home, vs catching them on the road/neutral.
We kinda dug our own grave with the non-con schedule, and then Maryland being a non-factor and Ohio State/Texas being bubble rather than top 25 made it so it was going to be tough to climb even as high as we have
At least we werenāt Gonzaga today. We got drilled by the best team in CBB. Gonzaga getting worked at St. Maryās.
Wow Ohio State about to take out Purdue, making that win look that much better for us.
That dude is going to have one of the wildest wikipedias for a college basketball player that never sniffed the NBA.
Was he involved in the fight on the team plane last year I forget
I think so (but maybe Iāve just assumed it)
He was the guy that people cited would age out of his parentsā health insurance during the season.
I think anyone, other than Bruce Pearl apparently, would agree that Miami OH gets in as an at large with an undefeated regular season and any loss in the MAC tourney.
But what if they lose one of the next two? Two of the next two?
For me, Iād say lose two of two and itās more questionable. Right now their WAB is like 26th**. If they lose two, it might be more like 35-40, or 40+.
Win one feels almost like a lock, but conference tourneys (theirs and others) might matterā¦
Edit - 35-40 is probably too low. Those teams are a full point below them, and I guess itās unlikely as many as ten teams would get a full point? But I donāt have much experience eyeballing thisā¦
** per Torvik. See post below for official
(Uh oh, dreaded triple reply time ā¦)
@AdventiveQuasar I really do think a resume like this is one good reason to have a committee. Even if you find a way to aggregate the various metrics, itās not a resume thatās easily reducible to a numberā¦
Understanding that thereās a problem is the first step toward recovery. ![]()

In this new world where P5 ās cherry pick low- and mid-major talent every year, maybe those guys get compensation through scheduling. If you take one of their players, you owe them a game. But then Miami (OH) kept all their players so theyād get hosed anyway. Isnāt there a way we can blame this on their conference? Like maybe they should get a few byes in their tournament and a 20-point lead to start the championship game?
