Obviously their lead team is the GOAT March Madness combo, but I also like Harlan-SVG.

@JoeBoxley what’s next for your boy?

Also I had a random Instagram DC food review reel come across my feed and I swear the guy said you were holding the camera. What a small digital world if true.

Lived on 13th & Q for years - legit across the street from Le Dip. Steak frits and gourmet big macs for days

Side note: I probably went to Drafting Table 3 or 4x a week. Loved and miss that place. Kills me there is some snobby wine bar there now

The snobby wine bar’s HH is pretty solid though…. not really my preferred spot, but it’s serviceable.

The best spot on 14th now is the Aslin. Absolutely love that place.

Will Warren writes in defense of the Sun Belt bracket: The Sun Belt Is Right

I love an analytically-based gadfly take, so I enjoyed this one. I especially enjoyed this part:

Here’s the thing: when those teams failed to win their leagues, no one really cared. It was a shame for about 15 minutes, then media members moved onto the next thing. Now that there’s a protective item here, people are annoyed and mad. Read the replies to the Sun Belt’s own tweet here and you’ll see many heated people either directly calling this a gimmick or inferring it as one.

You know what an actual gimmick is? Conference tournaments, which have only existed in a widespread fashion for about 50 years. The Big Ten didn’t see the need for one until 1998. Arch Madness, everyone’s beloved Missouri Valley tourney, didn’t exist until 1977 and wasn’t played in St. Louis until 1991. The Ivy League made it just fine without a conference tournament until 2017.

Also…I don’t think the 7-seed is actually an unfair result for Arkansas St. They had the easiest conference schedule and were #7 in the SB by conference-only WAB. They should have simply not lost at home to JMU and Marshall, games T-Rank had them at 80% to win.

I agree that for leagues that aren’t going to get a first four team (in which case they should try to rig it against the good teams to get the first four bid and potential extra tournament unit) this is usually the right move, it values the regular season more and makes it more likely to get a win in March. WCC and Southland are two conferences where its absolutely the right move. Just happened to be that there was a logjam at the top this year in the Sun Belt, I think its a bit silly that one result flips you from having to win 2 vs 5 games, but it worked out that way.

I’d argue it’s not too 3. St Anselm, Occidental, Osteria Mozza all better food, but not as historic and the quality absolutely shows up in the bill

15 seed; great shooters
14 seed; run the Princeton offense
… wait what? What were we talking about?

Sorry Osteria Mozza is an Italian wing I heard we’re scouting

Michigan-Iowa is fun. Stirtz is quite the player. Iowa has a very nice offense, they move the ball well and cut hard.

Dusty May is if you melded Tony Bennett’s and Ryan Odom’s face.
