GrĂźnloh vs Onyenso past 30 days is rough. Thomas is rating out as our least effective rotation piece overall right now, and a negative offensive add over the past 30 days.
Their definition: Regularized Adjusted Plus-Minus, estimating a playerâs impact on team performance when theyâre on the court. If lineups with the player consistently perform better or worse than expected, RAPM reflects that.
Since UNC game, we are 6-0 but 43rd in efficiency lmao. Only other P5 schools undefeated over that time frame are Houston, Michigan, and Florida and they are all top 5 in efficiency rankings over that span (St. Johns and âNova are undefeated as well, and come in at 14th and 25th respectively).
Puts into perspective how wild it is we havenât dropped one given our level of play.
Iâll say Iâm at the point where we can guarantee it wouldnât destroy his mental and make him bolt this offseason, start Ugo over Johann for the ACCT and NCAAT. Johann is an adult and was getting hyped on the bench the whole game, he should be able to handle it.
I still stand by him potentially being our best player next year if he returns, especially if he and Chance have an entire offseason to work together.
A stronger, more confident Johann, with Chance running point, plus 4th year Lewis as our primary scoring threat from outside is a recipe for an even better team than this one with the right pieces elsewhere. Namely another bruiser 4 and a TRUE elite scoring 2

Iâm not full of piss and vinegar about a 22-3 team. Our defense is clamping down in the second half of games during our winning streak, allowing us to win games, despite an offense thatâs running well off the tracks â missed bunnies and open jumpers, sloppy turnovers, too much standing around at times, not touching the paint on every possession, etc.
I mean the best team weâve played is Ohio State right? Playing like 43rd against a bunch of 60+ teams except for OSU
Actually OSU is a 60+ caliber team without their 2nd leading scorer. And we still havenât even played our worst opponent in this stretch. Kind of crazy how our schedule worked out
You know, our relatively mediocre period of offense started with the snow/ice storm. Itâs melting now. I bet we put up 90 on GT.

TDR needs to get going again. I know everyone is aware of this glaring problem, but it would go a long way to helping to lift us out of our offensive woes. He has been â and is supposed to be â an integral part of our offensive game. Itâs a bit disappointing to see us get very little offensively out of him and Malik on a game-to-game basis. It puts so much pressure on the other guys to score for a multitude of reasons.
Teams have scouted him, and each one has a very consistent game plan, because itâs working. Just backing down opposing players isnât cutting it; teams have taken it away, and he canât shoot the 3 to open up the paint.
Add to that the fact that we donât get much scoring from the center position, and we have a situation where they are imposing on defense, but they are contributing very little offensively.
idkâŚjust frustrated watching it happen time and time again; we need him.
Glass 1/4-full view: maybe opponents will now gameplan to leave those two open on the perimeter. I still have faith in both those guys to knock down open threes. (Letâs all manifest a Kyle Guy style slump buster to end the season.)
I guess a message board is the place to complain, but itâs hard to complain about 22-3. Some absolute positives:
I have enjoyed each game and believe the season will extend well into the NCAA tourney. Complainers gonna complain, but I, for one, am thrilled with our new coach and the team heâs put together. Iâm also thrilled with the fact that these kids seem to enjoy and thrive representing my University.
Was thinking heâs at his best when he is a credible threat from outside - but heâs basically stopped shooting from there. Heâs got to take 3 or 4 a game.

This would be a big rise for Virginia but if voters take a hard look at every teamâs resume in this range, itâs hard to argue a five-spot rise isnât warranted. Ryan Odomâs Cavaliers have won six straight â and 11 of 12 â after a victory over Ohio State this weekend. They are 22-3 overall.
