Why Tugard even gets any mentions on this board is beyond me. Why weāre using Bennett-era trends to predict whatās gonna happen this offseason is also beyond me. We have money to compete w anyone. We have a coach the players clearly love. We have a team that clearly gets along. If one or two guys leave, so be it. Odom will make it work.
Gossiping about player relationships is even more ridiculous. If Sam and De Ridder hate each other who fucking cares as long as they can put it aside and play (which they can). Itās not gonna affect whether or not either of them come back.
Tugard has been right about a few things over the years because he throws stupid ass takes on Twitter every day and gets lucky once in a blue moon. Doesnāt mean he has sources or knows jack shit about whatās actually happening. What he posts is the equivalent of UVA sports fan fiction.

Iām a personal believer that winning a lot of games should count for something. 27-4 is pretty ridiculous for a P5 team, especially in a much better ACC. Other teams drop games to lesser competition. Besides an early season game in a ballroom and an 8v5 in a barn, weāve been remarkably consistent. I think the 10-12 range is about where we should be.

While this team and Tonyās teams definitely function differently on the court, I felt like peak Tony seldom lost games we were supposed to win (regular season anyway), which this years team mostly matched

Itās the first VT game I want back. That wouldnāt be the pelt that UNC is, but that game was so stupid, and we should have won it.
Still, we won a lot of games that we could easily have lost. All in all, Iāll definitely take it.
