BOC was amazing at building a program, culture, etc, but his actual philosophies, strategies, and game managing have been driving me crazy for years. He did seem to start adapting in recent years, but I can’t say I’m not a little intrigued to get some fresh blood in the seat.

I acknowledge that he was an awesome coach. Usually when I questioned a decision of his, he ended up being right and I ended up being wrong. Tbf I haven’t been locked in but…..
IE) Bunting every single f’ing time a guy was on base with less than 2 outs when you had a top 5 lineup consistently. Always drove me nuts.

Yeah that’s the current thought process, Oak is bringing KMac with him and essentially replacing Dickinson with Muscara at MSU. Also Mike Roberts from JMU is rumored to be joining his staff as well.
It’s tough to really judge what our candidate pool is gonna look like, but if you can’t land someone like a Mark Wasikowski or a Cliff Godwin I’m almost of the mind that you take a chance on a high level assistant coach. Someone like Josh Elander from Tennessee or Nolan Cain from Texas. Hell maybe even offer Muscara the job if he hasn’t already signed papers at MSU.
Again though, not a guarantee any of those guys would be interested.

I posted a truncated list somewhere in this thread.
But if you gave me one pick of a head coach not currently in the SEC with the guarantee they would say yes, I would pick Link Jarrett at FSU.
He’s not even close to a real option, so from the real-ish options I’d go with Chris Pollard at Duke. If he advances to the CWS he probably quickly moves into the definitely unrealistic pool.
