Murray can hit but is a major concern on defense.

13-7 HOOS after 6. Got another run scratched across on a Sam Harris bloop RBI single to left. Play at first is getting reviewed right now that would give us another run but it’s not gonna go our way lol.

Noah Murray having a rough day.
By Pollard’s own admission, Murray’s defense is what kept him off the field at Duke last season. Not a great debut at 2nd in place of the hampered Tiroly unfortunately.
Not worried about his bat because that’s his calling card, but will say I’m a little surprised he’s hitting cleanup today.

HOOS win 13-7 on opening day as Noah Yoder closes things out in the 9th. UVA improves to 1-0, Wagner 0-1.
Got a doubleheader tomorrow starting at noon as we go for the series win and sweep.

I’m very excited about Yoder. Although it was a brief appearance, his stuff looked filthy. Wish they had the radar gun on the broadcast

Still VERY early but I expect him to eventually contend for a weekend rotation spot. Figured he and Yeager would get a healthy amount of midweek starts to begin the year and depending on how things are going for Johnson/Zatkowski/Stammel we’d go from there.
His ceiling is immense though. Wanna see what we have in Stroman and Paone as well who were also very highly touted prospects.

I think Zatkowski will be okay. He’s not an ace but I like the way he pitches, today notwithstanding. He had three straight that should’ve been strikes in the first and I think that messed with his perception of the strikezone a bit.

Didn’t get anything definitive but from what I heard I’d be surprised if we see him this season.
The new video board is impressive, but they’re not showing pitch speed or any player info. Kinda defeats the purpose of the upgrade.

HOOS up 4-0 in the bottom of the 3rd. Stoppage in play as the Wagner SP abruptly has to leave the game, am guessing an injury.
Wagner didn’t have anyone warming up in the pen so probably gonna be a little bit before things start up again.
