Shocked that Murray left two on.
That’s 11 in 6 games and 1.5 innings. 1 RBI & 11 LOB over that period. Pathetic.
That Pollard is just unwilling to try someone else, anyone else, at 3rd and in the 9th spot in the order is incomprehensible.

4-0 Jax State bottom 2, grand slam from the Gamecocks off Stammel.
Stammel retires the next two batters to end the inning.
Aaaaand time for football season
*golf
Didn’t understand the Stammel start with fresher pitchers with collegiate starts under their belts, but Pollard has pushed a lot of wrong pitching buttons past few weeks.
Unfortunately they failed today as well
Bunt.
2 batters with 3B completely unoccupied and instead we have 2 outs baseball is stupid.
I hope ncaa bans the shift. I can’t stand it lol
We go in order.
Becker had an infield hit to 2nd into the shift overturned to an out after a Jax State challenge. The throw definitely beat him but personally I didn’t think the covering pitcher’s foot was on the bag.
Aren’t they going to make the cut though?
Gotta keep the shift for now with how heavily weighted things are towards offense in college baseball.
Stewart comes on in relief of Stammel.
Ban the shift and metal bats at the same time.
Two strokes back after three rounds. We’re 10th — gotta get to 8th.
From what I understand wooden bats are too expensive an investment for lower majors teams to justify using.
What’s the fix then? The shift really screws some dudes.
Not sure, I think the NCAA probably enjoys the raise in homers but it has gotten to be excessive.
Maybe raise the seams a little higher to add more movement on breaking pitches, or tell umps to get over their ego and expand their zones to where the SEC had their ABS recognize strikes (slightly wider than the MLB zone).
Learn to hit opposite field or, as you said, punish the shift with down-the-line bunts.
But shifts aren’t usually attempted with good bunters at the plate.
Stewart with a 1-2-3 inning to end the 3rd.
Need to get the bats going.
