Is this a similar position to what Curry and other active NBA players have with their schools or something else? It’s hard to determine from the press release exactly what his duties are and if it’s a full-time position.

Considering Malcolm has an MPP they may actually give him some management duties. More likely though he’s just a figurehead to bring around when recruits are visiting. Though I’d love to be wrong about that

This is great news. Odom has done a really good job connecting the past with his program.
I think it is critical that the Bennett era be front and center. Awesome that Odom is prioritizing that.

Probably still figuring it out but he’s retired and sounds like he and his wife are settling in Cville so my guess is it’s a placeholder role until something more formal is determined.

What he SHOULD do (eventually) is run for office. And I never suggest former athletes do that but Malcolm is a.) genuinely smart and thoughtful and b.) genuinely qualified.

Oh this is totally a real, full time job and he’s going to be a major assest to the program, whatever the defined roles are.

I mean he could be the GM if he wanted to. Regardless I think it’s highly likely he will be involved in discussions with transfers/Euros over the coming weeks.

It’s just incredible news, honestly. Griff losing stung but adding an Autry or English and bringing in Brogdon more than makes up for that imo.

Love seeing Malcom back. Also pretty sure I saw Bennett at most of the post-season games, usually sitting near Dave Odom. Ryan Odom has done a great job keeping connected to Virginia’s past while also charting his own path. That’s not easy to do.

Really? For as much as the networks liked to show Dave Odom in the stands during those games, you would think they’d also mention / show CTB too. First I’ve seen this mentioned anywhere
