2nd Spring Live Period Recap

Must be some realllllllllllly big issue with handler or credits or something as nobody else seems to want to jump in on this kid.

Kody had no business in the ACC. Just took a spot on a ACC roster that could’ve played and shined in the ACC.

Lol, I was beginning to think he was CTB love child from Australia/New Zealand. Smh

It’s like an asymptote, basically. The debate goes on forever even though it always looks like it’s basically reached zero.

Under Scheyer, it’s now on steroids. Four 5 stars plus one 4 star for ā€˜22 and the same for ā€˜23 already. Not obsessed but paying attention

We can define the productivity from an additional marginal discussion of lineups as 1/x, where x is an arbitrary unit representing a quantity of discussion. This means, if we integrate we get log x + c although I do not know what do do after that…

I tend to agree with this post. Which I think most are barking up the wrong tree individually saying Kody sucked etc. it was a combination of too many suspect/poor evaluations with recruiting players that can’t fit or enhance the system, or at minimum take 3 to 5 years to develop and make minimal impact (see Caffaro, Kody as examples).

We need better players and much more speed/athleticism if we continue to recruit ā€œspecialty playersā€.

Maybe my memory is bad but stattman didn’t play all that much last season. Like if you give Igor all of stattman’s minutes, is he happy?

Finally, a dead period for @Hooandtrue to rest.

Kody played 16 min a game. Would have been plenty to keep Igor happy. And simply the chance to prove himself with consistent minutes would have been enough… I suspect his minutes would have increased with the production in those minutes or Tony would have been in a bind even more to explain Clark and Caffaro minutes with Igor proving himself in games

5*/4* the last 10 classes:

'23 4/1
'22 4/1
'21 3/1
'20 4/2
'19 2/2
'18 4/1
'17 4/2
'16 4/1
'15 4/0
'14 3/1

Sorry, '22 and '23 are typical. Not historic or steroidal. The duke hype train is bad enough. Other fan bases don’t have to help it.

Also the top of the 2022 class SUCKS. Probably the worst of the recruiting website era. If you just look at the ranks in their class Scheyer is above their norm but if you look at the actual players it’s not even close to K’s best classes.

Also, while Scheyer has been around Duke for quite some time, taking the actual mantle of HC and being the man is significantly different than running the occasional game when the regular HC is out for some reason. I’d say he’s continuing Duke’s recruiting strength so far pretty convincingly, but managing a team full of 5* kids isn’t trivial. Not saying he won’t be able to do it, but K was either the best or 2nd best college coach of all time and I’d expect some transitional bumps.

Their 18 class was just as good or better. Something like 1-2-5-15-and a 4 star and the 5 was Zion.

Is Dukes best NBA player right now Grayson Allen? Kyrie didnt play there so not counting him. Maybe Austin Rivers?

1-2-3

Zion was the #2. Which seems kind of ludicrous today. In all seriousness, how on earth did HS defenses even slow him down?

Zion in high school was like an even worse version of that 250lb running back from CT several years ago. Sure, the NFL could handle that, but most HS defensive players aren’t even going to try and you end up with astronomical numbers (I looked him up, Andrew Pinnock. He did end up playing in the NFL for a while).

I guess the scouts assumed college defenses could handle Zion but they were wrong.

Ahhhh yes

Duke sucks and Zion is fat

Yeah I remember hearing that they were 1-2-3 and Zion was 2, but I checked the 247 composite and RJ was 1, Cam was 2, Zion 5, Jones 15 and I forgot Baker’s ranking but he was a 4 star.
