A big in 2020 or 2021 would have been good, we were in the mix but struck out on (or cooled off on) reid and Coleman. Plus Shedrick had some set backs and wasn’t ready until this past season, that necessitated going after Gardner. This incoming class (traudt and bond - who may be a 4 some) and adding another big in 2023 will be critical. If we take on another transfer big in future, I hope he at least has 3 years remaining. Then fill any short term gaps with BVP types when necessary.
They come from 247 mods and administrators, rarely updates and mean very little.
Woah. I like a lot. Not in the more jokingly “I live everyone, here’s my 10 man dream class”. But a more serious “he’s the kind of forward we have been missing”. Glue guy athletic pick and pop guards multiple positions.
That being said I do have an extended dream class that changes on the moment and which will never actually happen.
Silas, Freddie + 3 bigs (one reclassed to 2022 and redshirted, one in 2023 straight up, one reclassed to 2024). Throw in Mayar Wol cause he’s versatile AF on both ends and also seems like he would buy into development and maybe a 2024 redshirt.
Although I would say if we can land and stash AND pay them some NIL money as long as they agree to stay for a couple of years atleast then that may be a way to lure some potential candidates who are getting paid to just work on their bodies the first year.
Yeah, I feel like I remember you saying over the weekend you weren’t sure we’d get involved because he didn’t quite look like an ACC-level guy. I trust Tony, but not sure I’m super psyched if that’s our first offer.
Take Tafara Gapare and redshirt him in 2022, take Malek Gomma and Mayar Wol in 2023, and redshirt Blake Buchanan to 2024. Boom. Don’t feel like any of those guys will be demanding 40 minutes a game year 1.
Also redshirt Mayar Wol possibly cause we aren’t getting Jarin Stevenson (UNC) or Isaiah Abraham (Duke or Georgetown since his mom works there and they got Ewing assistants who are solely recruiters/bagmen to get him a roster not even Ewing could screw up). Would rather have a small forward who is developing in our system for a year anyways.
TB likes to get his pre planned redshirts this time of year. There’s always one or two they’ve talked about that possibility with in advance, and he checks out during the April periods. And in 2023 they’re probably going to have a lot of scholarships, more than they could hope to use on players that intend to play right away. A player willing to redshirt is sooo much more valuable now than before.
Is this your confirmation of the offer to BB?
No haven’t gotten an answer. I assume he’ll want to post it on his own anyway. Kid’s in school.

Blake Buchanan has been offered
Early on, biggest threat seems to be Gonzaga interest. Really close to home (Idaho) for him.
He wasn’t even going to post it. Pretty rare for kids these days. I mean some don’t but when you get your first big boy that’s hitting twitter somehow some way lol
Yeah essentially a suburb
Blake “Tony you know if you offer I won’t even post it on social media”
Tony “Give this kid literally everything he wants.”
Big, skilled, humble
I’m in
Just like old GW, eh?
According to Gonzaga mod, Buchanan is visiting the 434 this weekend
Oh, CTBs not playing
