I donât like this idea. Everybody should get a shot at the top teams every year. But hey I donât like a lot of things happening these days.
Thank god we donât lose our second Louisville game. I was really worried.
Yea we talked about this a few weeks ago when first announced. Is UNC-NCSU that important to get twice? I canât think of any other secondary rivalry worth doing this convoluted mess for.
I hate this idea. Like I said above, I donât care about playing anyone twice. Completely unnecessary. One game for all the marbles. And yet weâre going to force a home and home, against fake rivals no less, at the cost of not playing someone at all? Turrible.
Plus now youâll get a scenario where a team was going to do the cal/stanford road trip but oops youâre missing one of those teams so you have to fly back to play Pitt or something before going home. Itâs just silly
VT hosting Neoklis Avdalas this week
Still not sure how they pull that off. Must have some sort of âinâ that has yet to be revealed. Seems like lots of teams would swoop in now that thatâs out there. Hokies should have kept the visit under wraps
This is so stupid. Itâs also harmful for all the other ACC teams to not have a guaranteed shot at the all big brand names every year. And just weird unbalanced andâŚ. stupid.
I wonder if that means theyâre keeping the two ârivalsâ or just one rival and a rotating 2x opponent. Would assume the rivals. And if so, whatâs the motivation. So UNC and NCSU can still play twice? Or an attempt to force these secondary rivals into becoming legit rivalries?
Kick over any rock in the history of the ACC and you find a Tobacco road constituency to be served. This is definitely about making sure the NC-4 keep their precious round robin. IMHO
Ugh the two rivals thing is so bad. I think NCSU and WF are the only teams that care about their secondary rival because it means they get both UNC and Duke twice. But to that I say:

Interestingly it looks like the secondary opponent wonât be a secondary rival, itâll be chosen annually which is a little silly.
I wonder if they try and game it and try to match up the best teams to play twice by preseason expectations (or for ratings), back in the Bennett era our Duke games would always be up there with the most watched games of the regular season.
If Louisville randomly gets announced as Dukeâs second partner this year weâll know why
Nothing to prevent a team from scheduling an Acc opponent out of conference I think???
Happens in football.
There used to be a rule of one team per conference in an MTE, but I believe they got a waiver for a bunch of them last year and are officially removing it this year. I assume other non-con would be the same.
Yep. So hey, we put together a preseason top 15 roster and weâll get a home and home with Duke.
I hope itâs a org ACC team. State, Wake, UNC, wtc
This is so dumb. Just keep it simple and play everyone once and Teelâs listed rivals twice. That makes total sense.
Having the top teams play each other more doesnât really help much. What helps is not having so many bad teams losing bad games out of conference, then beating the mid conference teams in conference play.
Itâs gotta be NC State wanting to play UNC every year
This is short, and I thought some people might want to watch it.
I still have a tough time when folks are talking ACC and they bring up SMU⌠or Cal⌠or Stanford. Itâs like i accidentally zoned out and they moved onto another conference.
