šŸ€ ACC Basketball- 2025 offseason

Hard truth is the ACC hasn’t really taken the step forward it needed to.

It’s usually an unpopular take, but I hope the ACC goes undefeated in non-conference play. And then Duke, UNC, and VT can suck it in conference play.

It’s almost like it’s under resourced compared to it’s peers

Stanford loses 37ppg between Jaylen Blakes, Oziyah Sellers, and Maxime Raynaud. Blakes and Raynaud were out of eligibility, but they lost Sellers (13.7 ppg, 40% from 3) to St Johns, and didn’t get any high profile replacements through the Portal.

Kyle Smith is the man, but this is a very big ask of him. He’ll need to be a wizard of getting last year’s role players to step up into feature roles.

Stanford seems like they are putting a lot of faith in younger players from last year taking the leap. I do wonder if they could be a surprise team if some of those pan out considering they have Smith.

I do assume their hurdles for transfer admittance are every bit as tough as ours or more.

I know some are skeptical but I’d pencil them in at the top of that 3-9/10 cluster right now.

Holloman
Copeland
Arcenaeux
Williams
Deng

Never know with transfer teams, might not click, but that’s a nasty stating five.

They’re apparently still going after Haggerty too, though K State is making a late push.

If they can somehow land Haggerty and Williams that’s a hell of an offseason for NCST and probably a top 10-15 roster in the country.

K state might be his agent trying to work price. Katate sources were like ā€œthat’s news to usā€ in response to yesterdays tweet

Their big man depth needs work. I don’t think Deng can hold up as a full time 5 (and I have questions about how good he is actually) and their other options are unproven in various ways.

Kansas lost out on both Dame Sarr and Darrion Williams today. Their fanbase is in full meltdown mode.

They should pivot to stealing Neokis Avdalas from the hokies

It’s a weird roster. No real big men and a bunch of very questionable shooters. Maybe it works, but we’ll see.

They definitely got the hard part of team building done with getting a high end shot creator like Williams. Arceneaux has been a really good as a defensive role player, Holloman is a known quantity as a starter-quality power conference PG. Copeland is not my personal cup of tea in terms of type of game, but he does bring a lot of rim pressure as a driver/transition player. They need 1-2 of those freshmen to be rotation quality (or add some more guys).

That’s 7 tournament teams, which is probably optimistic. I’m thinking 5-6 max.

I like NC State’s 3-4-5 of Arcneaux Williams Lubin

Houston East vibes. and with Quadir Copeland and if they get PJ Haggerty they have a chance to be legit legit. Going to be a very physical aggressive team

Wasn’t it Lubin that posted on twitter or somewhere that entering the portal was just business and he would stay at UNC…or maybe I’m mixing that up.
