Darrion Williams is probably gonna end up on NC Stateās roster too. I missed that he withdrew from the draft this morning:
They got money for him and Haggerty? would think heād be a hot commodity
Deep pockets in Raleigh apparently ![]()
Itās a huge state school - lot of guys that are in the hard sciences and had successful careers working up the ladder.
That alumni base that graduated in the late 70s/early 80s during the programs heyday at peak age to start splashing their millions to establish a legacy / see some winning basketball before they die.
Ok but. If they add PJ and Williams to what they already have that might be the 2nd most expensive roster in the country? Presumably thatās another 5-6 million.
Assuming this means Coward is sticking with his First-Round projection.
Dukeās projected roster:
| Returners | G/F Caleb Foster (JR) | 38 G, 14 mpg, 4.9 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 34% 3P% | ||
| SF Isaiah Evans (SO) | 36 G, 13.8 mpg, 6.8 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 42% 3P% | |||
| SF Darren Harris (SO) | 21 G, 6.1 mpg, 2 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 23% 3P% | |||
| F/C Maliq Brown (SR) | 26 G, 15.8 mpg, 2.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 66% FG% | |||
| C Patrick Ngongba (SO) | 30 G, 10.5 mpg, 3.9 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 72% FG% | |||
| Additions | G/F Cayden Boozer (4-star FR) | |||
| SF Dame Sarr (5-star FR) | ||||
| F Cameron Boozer (5-star FR) | ||||
| F Nikolas Khamenia (5-star FR) | ||||
| F Jack Scott (SR Transfer, Princeton) | 20 G, 10 mpg, 1.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 23% 3P% | |||
| F/C Ifeanyi Ufochukwu (RS JR Transfer, Rice) | 16 G, 3.3 mpg, 1.8 ppg, 0.6 rpg, 43% FG% |
Could be a good team, but wouldnāt surprise me at all if that roster finishes outside the top 25
Yeah if they donāt add anyone else, theyāre not that scary.
Not as good as last yearās team sure but Iād be shocked if they werenāt betting favorites to win the conference
My early thoughts with rosters still evoloving.
- Duke. Enough talent and Scheyer has proven to be a good coach. Not as good as last year.
- Louisville. - Like their talent level and Kelsey is a good coach. Think they take a step forward this year.
- UNC - Probably too high, but Davis has proven to be unpredictable. Could see them at 6th/7th though.
- SMU - Good mix of returning experience, transfers, talented freshman.
- UVA - This is without deRidder. If he comes may bump the Hoos up a spot maybe.
- Clemson - Lost alot. Backcourt is thin, front court is good. Brownell will probably get this team to the tournament.
- NC State - I like Wade here and this could be underrating them. If they get Haggerty they may jump a few spots.
- Syracuse - I am not confident in Autry. But they also have an intriguing mix of returning talent, transfers, freshman.
- Miami - Thin, only 9 scholoarship players. Talent there, but they have a newby coach, so i am not buying them yet.
- Notre Dame - I was a big Shrewsbury fan, but was disappointed with last years team. Feel they need to compete seriously for a tournament spot this year, or the worm may turn on Shrew.
- Wake Forest - If Forbes couldnt get them to the tournament last year, I am beginning to think he never will. The roster isnt as good as last year.
- Pittsburgh - We will see. I like this roster less than last year, but predicting Capel teams has become difficult.
- VT - Not seeing it with this team.
- California - Seems like a collection of average players to me.
- Georgia Tech - Love Ndongo and Mustaf could be good. Rest of roster is meh to me.
- FSU - I dont see a lot to be excited about honestly.
- Stanford - Lost alot didnt add much.
- BC - Grants last year?
I write all this and acknowledge rosters are not complete yet and it is very difficult to predict teams year to year these days.
Well duh Dook is Dook. But Iām a little surprised they havenāt put together a better roster.
I am really concerned about the mental well-being of Duke fans if they go through a few years of being just good (just making it out of the first weekend). With the new reality of teams buying top talent that might just happen as Brotherhood < Big Bags.
@DFresh11 I think we need the nerds picture here. Thatās a lot of talk for a team that slipped on a banana peel with a generational talent on-board.
This is where youāve gone wrong.
Gigantic nerdness there. Great call

Need to find the other hahah
Are you talking about the time they didnāt win a natty with Zion Williamson, or the time they didnāt win a natty with Cooper Flagg?
I donāt like that the new poop emoji is all cute and smiley. That is not the mood I intended to convey when I poop-emojiied this gross Duke post.
