When comparing resumes, losses matter. But how much depends on how you weight things. If one team is 2-1 in meaningful games, and another is 1-0 in meaningful games, and you prefer the 2-1 team, great! I can see that. I can also see how someone else might prefer the 1-0 team. Which is to say, both sides have a valid case to be considered.

I read somewhere they upgraded the lights in Cassell. It definitely looks brighter in there.

They will be quality wins at the end of the year. Alabama and Pitt will be top 75 which means Q1 wins. There wouldnt be many teams in the country that would win both of those on the road. Clemson is a good team this year.

KenPom still has preseason baked into it, bartorvik had Pitt #21 coming into the game. At the end of the day it should be a top 75/Q1 win I would think. Of course it is only 12/3 so Bama and Pitt could end up not being good, but I wouldnt count on it. You could make the same arguments about Florida and even A&M. But Clemsons start is probably the best on paper of any ACC team.

Their current KenPom SOS is 66 3rd toughest in the ACC, ahead of us which is 127. Two true road wins against quality teams is better than anyone else in the league right now.

At the end of the day ranking resumes/teams at this point 12/3 is just for fun anyway. I dont think Clemson will finish #1 but I think their resume could be #1 as of this moment.

My weekly ACC power rankings, based on what the team has done and what I still think the team can be. So not just resume, but partly resume and partly how good I think they really are.

Mostly for argument sake. There is something clearly wrong with Duke. The talent is there but the chemistry is not. I am sure Scheyer will figure it out to a degree but there is reason to be skeptical of the elite prognostications from earlier in the year. Georgia Tech had a big week and Lance Terry hasnt even played yet. It is hard for me to differentiate at this point between NC State, Pitt, FSU, WF, VT, Syracuse. All have warts but all have reasons to think they could get better and be in the mix for a bid.

Surprise! I think this is a very good ranking at this point. The top 5 seems clear, but even UNC has shown some inconsistency. ; the whole conference has to some extent. I think I am a little higher on BC, actually. I think they will take a step – not a leap – forward. I haven’t a clue what to think of Wake Forest because I haven’t seen any of their games. NC State, Florida State, Pitt, Syracuse, and VT is going to be a bit of dogfight, I suppose.

I agree @WFS_HOO that Clemson has a very good chance to perhaps even win the ACC. BUT as of tight now they have not been tested, as much as the other teams…except perhaps Miami.

Their frontcourt shooting woes get a lot of attention, but it’s been their defense that hasn’t been good enough this season. Seems like they are one perimeter defender short/Mitchell can’t really function as a 3.

Yes, I understand that clearly; thank you for condescending to point out a small difference. You said you woukd have Clemson higher. I said they have the potential to win the ACC. The implication is they MIGHT be higher right now.
