This is hilarious. They were already bowl eligible (6-5) so this week’s closer against State was purely ceremonial, no reason he couldn’t have been left to announce his retirement next week. Yeah I know he was being stubborn about it, but the classy move is still to wait a week and then give the ultimatum “retire or be fired,” negotiating some sort of face-saving buyout in the process. The fact that the AD fired him now is 100% spite and 100% hilarious.
Looks like Brown was going to be publicly stubborn about the job, was refusing to go quietly, so UNC decided to control the narrative and send him out loudly on their own terms.
How did this GT team lose to VT? Man, if VT lost that game and were 4-7 going into tomorrow, I’d feel somewhat optimistic about beating a depleted, downtrodden team.
Looking at their schedule, they beat Marshall, ODU, Stanford, BC and GT. They’re gonna go bowling beating 5 bad teams and GT.
Man, I was really rooting for GT. I think if Georgia lost tonight and then lost to Texas, Clemson would’ve been in the playoff. Could you imagine the SEC with 2 playoff teams and the ACC with 3?
Very interesting concept, according to Thamel Luck will basically be over top of everything football, both on field and business wise…
I’m sure it’ll need some ironing out but a GM for college sports is pretty sorely needed. Maybe this will be something where UVA can look to what an institutional peer is doing and can replicate?
