Now TDR can get a little selfish with the ball, but I think that is justs his personality. He WANTS to be the Alpha & ballhandler despite not having the handles to accomplish it.
Who has the best ballhandling on the team? Probably Chanceā¦ but he has issues himself.

I think TDRās selfishness with the ball is sometimes more a deficiency than a choice. He gets tunnel vision pretty bad sometimes, but I donāt think itās because heās selfish, I think he just has a little trouble with his court vision once he sees the basket.
Both leaps and bounds above Neo in their desire for team outcomes though.
I think itās also because the staff has told him to be aggressive and to be the man instead of the role player he was in Europe. Itās still unnatural for him.
TDR can definitely get into head-down driving mode, but his assist rate has ticked up in conference play (18% in conf v. 11% for the season), and also when you consider he is shooting 67% at the rim, drawing loads of FTs and getting his own miss a bunch, head-down TDR is still one of our better components of our offense.
Iām fine with head down driving mode as long as it starts at the 3P line and not halfcourt!

I think he is saying higher hit rate as in heāll have more time to assess the guys heās trying to go after so that his Hope or his statement is they will be actual high-level contributors at a higher percentage of who he adds
For clarityā¦ If a coach thinks that he has to add more people and then doesnāt add them, he might try to add more after the fact of when he doesnāt add them and then after he realizes theyāre not very good he might try to add more people like Alabama did in the middle of the year because there are no rules, but maybe there will be rules then but I donāt know what rules will be in effect then versus the ones that are now
