People hyped them after the very mid Providence OT win but everything I’ve seen from them suggests to be a bottom half ACC team.
No Lawal today but they’d be losing either way.
VCU actually has a pretty talented squad. Should be A10 contenders along with Dayton and SLU.

Same. Kind of has me questioning whether it’s the coaches or the institution. None of the coaches that left there have set the world on fire at their next stop. Even slippery Wade wasn’t gangbusters at LSU before he got in trouble. Shaka did the best but still had the Texas posse after him when he left for Marquette. Let’s hope Odom is better then them all but I have some questions.

To me not having questions 5 games in is crazy. I’m hopeful he’s successful but I have no clue how this is going to shake out. It’s a whole different ballgame going from Utah state and vcu to uva it’s also a dramatically different climate in college basketball. Not saying he won’t be successful. Just wouldn’t be surprised if we are middle of the road under him.

I guess I’m comparing them to Tony which is unfair. I didn’t remember wade being that successful all the other guys basically hit the wall at their second stops.

How many of these VCU guys played for Odom last year? Did they get some good portals? They seem like a pretty decent team.
He also came from the PAC 12 - and had gone to the sweet 16 …it’s different moving up a level.

They’re a mix. Some decent returnees in Jennings, Hill, Belle, and Fermin. But they also brought in a really solid transfer class, Djokovic, Evans, Tracey, Ward, and Nowell.

Nyk Lewis was #53 ranked freshman in his class. Which was a good get after he Decommitted from Xavier.
