Makes sense. This season and last season couldn’t have been fun. Their associate HC has a long history with Larranaga and has been a HC before at Cornell, so he’s a safe pair of hands to trust with the rest of the season.
Being 4-8 with the amount of talent he has on his roster means something else is going wrong underneath the hood. Not surprised Larranaga just decided to cut his losses and call it quits.
Possibly but I don’t think you have to look hard to figure it out or conjure a conspiracy. He was close to retirement before they went on a final 4 run. Their NIL is a mess with the Ruiz fallout. Miami has and will be a football first program. All of Larrsnagas contempories are gone and he’s old.
Plus its a nice finger to Tony. " “I’ll show you how to quit in style”
5 years ago I think we all knew this wave of coaching retirements were coming. I had hoped Tony would stick around another 15-20 years but oh well.

Hamilton the only one left. Is there any wonder why the ACC is down these days?
Is Larranaga’s son still an assistant on the Wizards? Maybe he will be in the area; would be cool to have him pop by for a practice or two over the summer to brag to the youngins about his two final 4 teams at Miami/George Mason and how he also got to coach Ralph Sampson
If this is Hamiltons last year I imagine FSU goes off the deep end. They’re already hurting for cash and had Norvell sacrafice a big chunk of salary. Doubt they are eager to fund their No. 5 sport
