First thing he needs to do is to get his elbow back under the ball… in the makes in those clips his elbow is way more tucked properly… this year it flares out way too much creating misses left and right… it’s the kind of form guys with less strength use to get the ball all the way to the basket on shots outside of their actual range.
It’s like a trebuchet motion and his base form is also wonky, like a hunchback.
How hard would that be to identify and fix in-season or is that just something that requires an off season to properly diagnose and work to fix?
Separate note but how did Rohde look in the 3 point contest before the B&W scrimmage or did he even participate?
I’ve been to two games this year and watched him closely in pre-game warmups. Against Florida he couldn’t buy a bucket and against Wake Forest he was hitting. He’s just also probably someone that benefits from volume but he’s not getting that nor should he right now.
Those three point shots sure looked a lot “softer”, with more arc than what we are seeing out of him this year. Maybe a higher release this year?
Did not participate. It was Reece, Groves, Taine, Mckneely
It’s not that hard for shooters that have enough muscle memory with the proper form, but it would be really hard for those that don’t.
I suspect he had enough shot attempts last year in most games where he could calibrate as he went along whereas here he doesn’t have that luxury during games.
I watched him against NC State during warm-ups and his form simply is not the same on every shot.
Might be a good reason for that exclusion as evidenced by the season long sample size.
Yeah I remember some folks on here being puzzled or curious as to why Rohde wasn’t in it. Well, now we know.
I bet he begged off knowing he was not “there” yet.
Idk about that, I looked up an article to be sure I was correct. “Bennett selected four players to participate.” I’m sure he selected the top 4 from what he’d seen up to that point
Tony: I gotta pick 4, who is in?
Beeks/Imac/Groves/Taine: Right here!
Rohde: Ties shoe and gets cup of water.
Who won?
iMac
And Taine won round 1

It seemed like that to me too-it’s like he has noticeably less arc in his shot this year compared to last.
Noah’s Arc strikes again…
I think there is something, whether Noah’s Arc, or other tinkering that the staff does that affects shooting. We saw it with iMac last year especially and the results tis year make it “worth” the tinkering. I think RoDog has a solid foundation, but he still “thinks” about the release a bit too much. I saw it in his warmups for the first game of the season - he’s not comfortable just shooting.
Let’s go Andrew let’s go!!! Clap clap
I wonder did Kyle Guy use Noah’s Arc? It’s interesting that even though iMAC came in with a good shot- or so we thought that he was told to change it.
I’m just curious about who is being told to use it and whose not. Maybe a Jwilly show question @DFresh11
