Damn man how did Spike Jonze accurately predict both the direction of AI and present day fashion back in 2013.
and redshirting
If Traudt had an AI girlfriend, we might have been able to keep him!
Her?
It is referring to the redshirt he prominently wears in the film
Ryan Dunn as the host just makes so much sense
From what I understand Ryan Dunn was the guy who had dinner with the Robinson family and showed him around etc. There is nothing better than having a player who has REALLY bought in, sees the benefits of, and quickly adapted to our system. He can help explain to incoming Bigs how he sees things and perhaps how he would be able to help and provide his knowledge if they attend school here.
Last summer - we brought our son to CTB’s basketball camp. What an amazing experience for him. And - we loved the access to the coaches and players who attended. I ran into RD and said hello. Let him know that I came from Long Island too - to attend UVA. I simply told him that UVA had such an impact on me as a person and my life - all for the best. It was a moment where I got a little emotional in saying that to him. And I told him that I wished an amazing experience for him at UVA and that I hope it has such a positive impact on his life. He was so genuine in our little conversation. At that moment - I became a fan of him - long before he played a second in a game.
I’ve watched him this past year and am so grateful for his who he is and that he is a Hoo. And the more I read about him as a person and his family - I am so thankful.
Not surprised at all that he is a great recruiter and advocate for UVA.

Fascinating backstory:
Awesome read
How many games does ARob start next year?
- 0
- 1-10
- 11-20
- 21-30
- 31+
Just trying to get a general vibe of how people are viewing him for next season. Probably asking too much expecting him to start any amount of games, but also at least from my view he looked better than Buchanan in the B/W scrimmage. Could maybe even see TB tinkering with a traditional two big lineup depending on what our roster looks like.
No. I’m predicting Arob to be the next Dunn type
Another Brian Gregory referral (RD and Dre, too, right?)
Interestingly, he’s a second generation redshirt - both parents!
I’m thinking he is in for the jump ball, and then gives way to Blake
I might be misremembering but I think John Thompson used to have a tip off specialist
We haven’t had a player with his combination of size, athleticism, and skill set under Bennett. Reminds me of a bigger Travis Watson, though more raw at this age. Maybe some Norman Nolan? Frankly his upside (again, acknowledging he’s raw now) could be what we had hoped to get out of Nichols.
I think Robinson could be a special defender. Not a crazy vertical for his size and length but extremely mobile
